Me and the wife will be in Chattanooga later this month and just checking in to see what are some good places to eat that are not the typical restaurant chains

Also some sites to see outside of the normal ones like the Tennessee river walk,  train rides, lookout mountain which we plan on doing.

Anything worth doing in addition to them?

Any information would be helpful

Ride the incline railway. See Point Park when you get to the top.
Eat at the Boat House.

It is pretty good.  Im kinda partial to 1885, right across the street from the incline railway.

White Bird at the Edwin Hotel is excellent
Agave and Rye is funky cool and has amazing tacos
Lupis Pizza downtown is good.
Tony's Pasta in the Bluff View Art District is excellent then go next door to Rembrandts for dessert
Any of the Champy's chicken places are good

Any CCW issues at the popular tourist spots?

(i.e. Ruby Falls, Incline RR, Aquarium, etc)

I didn’t have any issue on the Inclined Railway, which was the only one we ended up doing.

Hi gents - I'm going to be stopping in Chattanooga for one night with some family, staying at the Fairfield Inn on Starview Lane and looking for an easy dinner on a Saturday evening.  (all adults over 21)  The 1885 on St Elmo looks good but I noticed right next to it is The Tap House & Empyreal Brewing Co.  Anyone know how the food and beer are?  This looks like it might be what "I" want to do but I won't be popular if I steer us wrong...

Thanks for the help!

Southside Social isn't bad.    Plus there is bowling if you want.

I've been peeping on this thread for an upcoming visit to SE Tennessee. I recently found out that one of my ancestors from the Florida Light Infantry fought up at this battle and was subsequently captured, escaped and joined the confederate secret service. I will certainly be visiting the battlefield.

I second the recommendation of eating at The Boathouse. If the weather is nice...ask to sit out on the back deck.

I highly recommend Chickamauga National Battlefield.
There's a lot to see though...Make a day of it.
Take the guided driving tour as well.

Rock City & Ruby Falls are fun things to do.

There's a cool museum dedicated to Tow Trucks if you're interested.
