Some of you may remember the blue house from shoots I hosted in years past. The majority of it was destroyed yesterday around lunch by fire. We won't have the report until next Friday, but it appears to have been an electrical fire that started in the bathroom attached to the master bedroom. That's the end that is burned to the foundation as you could guess.

I've been living in the house my wife purchased before we met since 2012 and have had this place leased since June of 2015. We kept insurance on the structure but not the contents, as is the norm when you lease a property. Here's where the cautionary tale comes into play:

They didn't have renter's insurance despite me telling them it was in their best interest to have it. They lost everything. They have two little girls and I feel the worst for them. There were also two small dogs inside that didn't make it out. Luckily everyone was at work or school so no human casualties. I'll let the pictures do the talking from here.

That is what is so sad.......renters insurance is a drop in the bucket.........

Too much room for fraud there. It would be a legal nightmare.

I'm not sure how they could legally require that.

No worries, insurance will handle it.
