Is regular mail sufficient with the CLEO copy of an eForm1? Or does it need to be dropped off in person? Between COVID & the protesting I'm not sure how to go about dropping off something that says it's for the chief.

No experience but I'd send it certified mail if you were insistent on sending it via post office.

Have you tried calling the sheriff's department and asked what they prefer?

I would definitely call.  It probably changes regularly right now.

I'm no expert, but I've always sent the CLEO notification crap via regular mail.  I strongly suspect the vast majority of LE agencies just toss that into the trash anyways.

Called, and was told snail mail is fine. I agree, I expect it to end up in the trash. Just wanted to confirm that was the right way to go, have only done Form4s prior through SilencerShop. Thanks for the help.

I’m not aware of a single LE agency in the state that has a system in place to provide any sort of official receipt even if you drop it off in person.

Until the government provides a way for me to prove I complied with the law, there’s no difference between complying and not.
