There's likely going to be a road trip at some point this year that will take me from FL to OH.

I understand that GA, TN, KY and OH all honor FL CCW's.

With that said, anyone aware of restrictions or other peculiarities from these other states that are worth being aware of?

Notifying a cop if pulled over.....certain places CCW is a no-no?

We see by far the most cops in GA during our MI to FL road trips.  Stop at the new Buc ees and get some beaver nuggets and take a shit.

If I am not mistaken, SC and NC are duty to inform states as well.

Good to know, just not necessary for me at this point as I won't need to go through either to get to OH.

Reminds me of a Lewis Grizzard joke.

Georgia Highway Patrol pulls over a speeding car on I-75.

"Boy, do you realize how fast you wuz a goin'?".

"Uh, I coulda swore I was going 55..." (it's an old joke)

"You must be some kinda wiseass, where you from boy?"

"Uh, Columbus..."

"Listen here Boy, you think I'm stupid?"

"No, sir."

"I already seen them Ohi-a license plates"

Sounds like you're taking I-75.  Only thing to worry about is the miserable drive through Atlanta.  Try to time it well.

Ohio is gun friendly.  They had a bill recently to kill duty to notify, not sure if it passed or not.

Where in Ohio you headed to?

ETA - in Ohio don't drive more than 5 over the limit.  It sucks, but every cop there wants a reason to pull you over.  The State Highway Patrol treats every driver like a big time drug smuggler.

Looks like middle of nowhere, I'm not familiar with that area.  If you have dark tint you'll likely get some attention.  And like I said, +5 over the speed limit and no more.

Appreciate the heads up.

In S. FL, 80 in a 65 is business as usual.

I feel it.  I run about 85 everywhere around Tampa.  Now when I go back to Ohio it's maddening that the fastest I can go is 75, and in most places it's much lower.

And I can't remember the last time I saw a speed trap either.

I saw three on I-75 last weekend. Or at least the Google Maps told me they were there. Since Waldo was disbanded. I think speed traps have fallen by the way side.

You will see them a lot on I-75 between Gainesville and Ocala. Especially on weekends. They hide in the median shrubbery.
