Looking for a good place to buy ammo, that’s not going to rip my head off.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I have personally used Lucky Gunner and SG Ammo many times with no issues.

Thanks for the recommendation, checked both and neither has .45 ACP ammo in stock.

I can't vouch for any of these sellers but hopefully you'll be able to find something that wont hurt your wallet too much.

I read that once again certain calibers are not available, such as 45 and 9mm.

Check some of the vendors on the web, you may have some luck but expect to pay top dollar if in stock.  SGAmmo and Ammotogo are the ones I have used in the past.

Good luck.

One word, RELOAD and never run out of ammo.

I was at Cheyenne Mountain Sports in Bordentown on Sunday buying more powder and primers. They had both 9mm and .45 acp on the shelf but were rationing.

Reloading pistol ammo is easy. A 50 round box of 9mm cost me 6 bucks to make with my saved brass!

They had primers in stock?  Online availability has been pretty scarce.

https://aimsurplus.com - good prices, some stock limitations, ok on shipping times $-$$
https://www.laxammo.com -  has good stock, ok on shipping times $-$$
https://www.freedommunitions.com has stock, ok on shipping times $$

https://www.cheaperthandirt.com Whatever you do stay away from them unless you are ok with paying $$$$

If you need it now, it'll cost you.
I know someone (another state) who bought the IMI 55 gr 5.56 for something like $279/1200 case. couple years back.
He resold it a few weeks ago for $1.20 round.
supply/demand.

At this stage of the cycle (which probably began right after the first Obummer election) I would think that only the new and recent weapon buyers are the ones not prepared when it comes to owning sufficient ammo.

The writing has been on the wall since then.

ammotogo.com has some calibers available for handguns. Zero 556/223

ETA: and yes their prices reflect the lack of supply.

Lugerman taught me many years ago, I now reload every caliber I shoot. If he’s offering, accept ... I’m grateful for his lessons.
