Didn't the new law kick in about banning FTF sales of any firearm? It's now a no-go, correct?

All private sales must have a transfer and background completed at an FFL. This went into effect at the beginning of the year.

Banned? no
Require background checks? yes.
Sellers now want buyers to pay the $25 fee and buyers probably assume sellers dropped their prices.

So, as a seller, how would you go about doing a background check.

You need to complete the transfer at an FFL. The FFL will complete a 4473 and perform a background check on the buyer. They'll charge a fee. Currently DPS is still several days behind on BGCs so the transfer won't happen immediately. CFP holders are not exempt.
