Elections are nothing more than popularity contests
The candidates don't actually have to know anything about they office they seek
They aren't put head to head in debates with opponents and asked hard questions
They're not asked to explain in detail why their ideas are better and make financial sense
They just run ads that make them look good
The news agencies cover for them if they like them and keep them shielded from uncomfortable video and sound bites
The movie "Idiocracy" is actually a documentary

I don't think it got enough signatures to make it onto the ballot. So that means it will probably be decided on by the state legislature.
