(NZ Police Station busted into and robbed of ((gasp)) its rifles on ANZAC Day!) Palmerston North Police were left embarrassed after someone went into their main police station and stole firearms on Anzac Day. The New Zealand parliament were in such a mad dash to “do something” that no one bothered to check if they had the means. A man, Alan James Harris, strolled in and helped himself to the pile of illicit firepower and 11 of those firearms are still unaccounted for. 
 Come again? A bloke just walks in and swipes 11 guns in a POLICE STATION? And this is the GOV telling us what to do?
(yep--trot out the (ahem) vigilant gal here to deflect any anticipated criticisms or brick-bats (usual PR ploy these days--leave the incompetent "wimmen" alone!) Police Commander Won't Confirm Types of Rifles Stolen From Them The actual cost of the NZ Buy-Back of guns has ballooned to $300M from the earlier estimate of $80M. How Is New Zealand Doing? "Meanwhile in Venezuela… there is a population wishing it was armed right now."

Lived in west Auckland for a while, i am not surprised it happened, anzac day is abig thing there so the police were probably all out enjoying it.
