Now that it's finally open I'm wondering if anybody here has become a member besides myself.  This is the new range technically in Nichols, FL which means a spec between Mulberry and Valrico.

I have only been using the 2,000 yard range out to 800 on steel from prone.  There are mile targets and some camera system to view your shots but I haven't tried it.

I am doing my orientation/safety class next week. I haven't been there yet but plan on signing up for one of the remote memberships. It's cool that they have the camera system on some of the targets. I think/hope I will really like the place.

Glad to hear this.  They have 3 or 4 ranges currently.  There is a sort of static 100 yard sight in range, an active range, like a movement handgun/carbine range, a 500 yard, and the 2,000.

Not yet, but planning on the remote membership shortly.

I am an Ultra member and I love this range and its members. If you are looking for a place to do plinking and light shooting, I think there are better ranges. If you are a long range precision shooter, or like dynamic shooting, then this is the range for you.

The biggest draw for me is the ability to do dynamic shooting and moving with Ben and Eric. Every Saturday they have a course of fire where they have timed run and gun drills. Very cool to shoot with people who do it better than you.

They are holding a members only lowlight/night shoot on December 5th. I will be attending that and will try to be there Saturday mornings for the Course of Fire.

Let me know if you are too!

Consider if you shoot a few times a week at least plus access to all the amenities and even low light shoot plus everything else. I'd do that.

My friend shoots there and has nothing but great things to say about it.

Thanks osprey

I'm a member but haven't made it out there since they opened.  Hoping to get around to it in the next few weeks.  The fact that they're closed on Sundays has me questioning the value of being a member already.

They're not closed on sundays, they're open from 1-5

I think I read somewhere that they are open Sunday's during the month of December as a test/evaluation.

Which still makes no sense to me.  It's 1,200/yr., 40 more if I pay in lump sum so where's the free month?  I know it's straight from the website but wth?

Then they need to update their website.  I just cancelled my membership (last week)  that I held since back in 2019 since they showed they were still closed on Sundays and Mondays.

That's really my worst critique of the place.  To get a total view of what's going on there you have to watch FB, Instagram, and the website and hopefully combine all the elements to get 100% of what is going on there.

Just a quick FYI.  They may have been open 1 - 5 Sundays in December but FB says not open Sundays in January.  The website still show them closed Sunday and Monday.  It's out in the middle of nowhere and unless you want to waste 3 hours driving there like I've done, I wouldn't chance it.

Is anybody taking the upcoing precision rifle class at JTAC?

went today and now the unmarked berm is all set up. Its 1200 yards and has two full sized silhouettes on it.  I made numerous hits with the 260 Remington.  41 moa comeup from 100 yard zero.

still no berms at 700 or 900 which is awkward in my opinion.

shot there again yesterday. all the 1000 yard targets were painted red and you could not see your hits, not cool.

Thanks for the update and a bump for future info. I'm interested in their precision rifle courses but their website only links to a description through the training calendar.

I've complained about this in the past.  They're not consistent at all about getting news out.  That is to say, they'll talk about things on FB or IG but there'll be nothing on the website which is crazy.
