[Last Edit: Captain_Morgan]
I had a great time on the last HTF/APC hike. Let’s do it again. We hiked Comite River Trail last time, and we can either do that again or pick another one. I’m free the weekend of Oct 9, 10, and 11.
I’d prefer the morning of Oct 10 and to switch up the trail but I’m open to suggestions. Last thread for reference and information on American Pioneer Corps. https://www.ar15.com/forums/hometown/American-Pioneer-Corps-Louisiana-HTF-Meetup-Sept-19th/58-647612/ Tagging @bcamp15 and @toddmtnbkr since they came before but let’s get some others as well. ETA: Looks like Oct 10 it is. Let's get started at 8am. Location will be the MS River levy trailhead, starting at the Water Campus trailhead. See location in post below. You can count me in as of now. I too would prefer the morning of the 10th. I don't mind getting started early.
Got a better suited backpack, so I will most likely go for that 45lb 6 mile hike, assuming we would be doing another 6 miles. |

Awesome
Yep, targeting a standard APC 6 mile hike. |

View Quote I'm game for 10/9 or 10/10 (prefer 10/10). We can do Hooper this time...since we did Comite last time, and BRAMBA would have likely cleaned up Hooper for the race a couple weeks ago (so it should be in good/decent shape). |

I think I can do the 10th. Is this an all day thing?
Nope, we'll start about 8, and for a 6mi hike, should be done about 10.

Weather not looking great Friday and into the weekend. If it isn't raining, its going to be muddy for sure.
Thoughts? |
I’ve been keeping an eye on that. I was thinking that if rain had blown through or slowed to something tolerable, we could shift the hike to something more paved, like along the MS River levy.
We could meet at one of the parking lots on River Road, walk 3 mi south, and then head back. I’m always open to other suggestions. |

Awesome
We’ll keep monitoring this weather and adjust accordingly. |

It looks to me like delta will swipe us a little bit and the rain should be moving out by the time we’re ready to go. What do y’all think?
Looks that way. If we do a trail it'll be muddy for sure. I am up for whatever.

They eye should be passed us by the morning. However the area is probably going to get soaked. I think that if we do this, let’s moved to the paved path along the top of the MS river levy.
Let’s meet at the water campus trail head. Park in the lot on the east side of River Road. It’s just south of the I-10 bridge. 916-1398 S River Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 Attached File |

So what are y’all carrying in your back packs for weight? I normally “hike” from the sxs out to my stand

I’m good with 8. It should take me about 30 to get from Gonzales, depending on what this weather does. I’ll stuff some things in a book sack, best I can do right now

Just loaded up the 45lbs. Man that's not light lol.

If you don’t have a pack with a frame, it will suck and you might want to skip the weight this time around. I agree, we’ll meet there for 8. Looking at how the storm is tracking we should be good to go in the morning. See y’all out there. |

We just lost power. If it's not back by morning, I'll have to miss the hike tomorrow so I can pull the generator out to get the fridges powered back up. Wife's says I can't leave her with two kids and no power
Mine said the same thing.
Fortunately the power only flickered. |

Mines still out so I won't be able to come.
@Bcamp15 Y’all need any help or do you just need power to come back?
I’m here so y’all let me know if anyone is still on the way.

We just need the power back on. I grabbed a generator from work and got the 2 fridges going. Lost everything I. The fridges but not freezers. About to head to my parents since they have power.

Not your fault, don’t sweat it.
The only thing I’m upset about today is that god awful LSU performance. |

So where are we at y’all? Considering recent events, I see where we really need to come together and pursue APC.
I was actually thinking about posting a thread to do a hike tomorrow.
It might rain. Are y’all OK with that? ETA: Fuck it, we'll do it live. |
