NEXT RUCK: 19 JUL 2020
We've had a lot of success over the past few months in both Indiana and Kentucky, expanding the American Pioneer Corps to quite a few towns in a relatively short period of time. In the past, we would create a new thread with specific information for each ruck. Now that many are aware of our format and expectations, I think I'll simply start this thread and keep it updated with new events in our area as they are planned. Additionally, instead of repeatedly using the "@" function to bring the same people's attention to these events, I will simply tag a person one time to bring them to this thread. After that, they can chose to enable email alerts or manually monitor this thread as their motivation and interest allows. With that said, the "@" feature seems to only work if you include 3 screen names or less in each post, so please forgive me if the first page of posts in this thread are nothing but screen name mentions to work around this issue. American Pioneer Corps standards can be found here. While the common trend if this activity is to allow for the open carrying of long guns, we recommend the following: Since plate carriers do not count toward ruck weight, and since many of our hikes take place in public venues, we ask that all participants please refrain from wearing plate carriers or carrying long guns until they have attended at least three APC-associated rucks, unless the event clearly states that long guns or plate carriers are part of the mandatory equipment list. I love freedom as much as anybody you'll ever meet. Please understand that these requests are being made simply to help build rapport among both the new and experienced participants, alike. In, thanks for the shout out.
Clarification on your request regarding rifles and plate carriers, do you mean three rucks with your group, or three rucks with any APC BB group? I’m fine with the former, just want to know where I stand if/when I can make it down there, and I would like to. |

Awesome!!
Glad the mystery of the @ tags is finally solved. Great idea to consolidate everything into a single thread. If anyone is interested, our Southern Indiana group has a ruck scheduled for this coming Saturday the 25th in Madison IN Details here |

Thanks for the mention, I've been keeping an eye on our hometown thread. Newborn has been kicking my ass and I've yet to attend anything yet

I’m watching this thread. I am still on light duty restrictions from breaking my vertebrae in January. Once I am cleared by docs I’ll be there.

Does subscribing require a certain level of arfcom membership or am I just stupid? "Both" is certainly an option.

View Quote I believe you have to be at least a bronze level member in order to have the "subscribe" feature enabled. ALCON: If you haven't already, please message @Damon_23 regarding the ruck this weekend (25APR) for meet-up location. It will NOT be posted in the open. Hope to see y'all there! |

Like have people teach some HAM radio stuff, First Responder stuff, etc.. For now, though, we just hike. It’s a good time. |

I'd like to see a couple of hikes take place over here in the Daniel Boone area, some day. Beautiful area, light to challenging trails as well.

How did the event go? I have an interest in this and want to give it a try at some point.
