My understanding of gun laws in AZ, is that carrying a gun concealed or having a gun in a car on public school grounds is not allowed in AZ? Is this understanding correct?

Additional information:
I have AZ issued CWP
School is a public elementary school
Handgun is either secured in car, or carried concealed on person
NOT entering any buildings or gated premises on school grounds

Context:
My question specifically relates to school drop off and pickup, where my preK-aged child is walked (from car in school parking lot) to a gate at the start of his school day and picked up at the same gate at the end of his school day.

Thanks in advance for any information offered.

CCW or no, this is the only way to legally have a firearm on school ground unless you have a LEOSA card or are there for some time of school program/class

ARS13-3102(I)
1. Firearm that is not loaded and that is carried within a means of transportation under the control of an adult provided that if the adult leaves the means of transportation the firearm shall not be visible from the outside of the means of transportation and the means of transportation shall be locked.
