We're gonna try something a little different, and knock out the fitness test requirement for the 2nd Class APC Rating, since grueling hikes only go so far.  We'll also likely do a shorter duration walk as well (possibly simultaneously) so everyone has plenty to do.  I'd suggest that even those folks who aren't interested in the physical activities still show up to meet & greet everyone, since we're gonna be more or less located in one place for much of the outing, which is uncommon. This is also an opportunity for some of our South Side compadres to check in without the significant commute that the LSHT has entailed.

I anticipate this event won't last quite as long as the six mile hikes do, so there may be time for a slightly more extended lunch meetup afterward than the usual.  Lunch location tbd (unless you have suggestions for something nearby). At lunch we can discuss the merits of the South vs The North side of the city. Some potential arguments to get you primed:

Who: The usual suspects
What: Probably gonna do the Airforce Fitness test.  It goes without saying that gym attire & sunscreen are strongly recommended, vs. the boots & packs we normally have on.  It's now warm enough that bringing water is no longer optional; 2L minimum each person
When: Saturday, 5/1/21, 10:00 AM --start with some stretching/warm up, then do the run requirement before the other exercises
Where: Tom Bass Municipal Park III,parking lot south of the fish pond

Why: APC 2nd Class Rating requirement --I don't think there's a limit on the time between doing this and making 2nd with additional hikes, so it will benefit anyone who thinks they might 'one day' want to get more involved in the APC organization.  And as mentioned, it'll be a nice change of pace from rucking.

Once again, if anyone wants to organize, volunteer, or request a carpool, post up your general area and we'll put it out to the team.

Congratulations to our new Pioneer Candidate 2nd Class Members.

The Ghost passed the PT test with a score of 86.9
Bollox eeked out a passing score with 78.8

I think our third attendee did better than he expected to do but unfortunately fell slightly short in some areas. A little more physical conditioning and he'll have it. Thanks to everyone who came out.
