Hey guys!

Sorry if this has been beat to death, cant find a specific answer anywhere

I have an ak the a CA FFL is interested in picking up

In my searches i think ive found that only certain FFLs can possess "assault" weapons.. is this correct

Can anyone clear up whether or not its legal for my to ship this rifle to them?

If he has an assault weapon permit, then my understanding is that he can acquire it as-is.

If it is not on the make/model ban list and you remove any offending features (like the pistol grip, which is usually the only such feature on the typical AK) and put them in a bag or something separately from the rifle, it should be good to go regardless.
