Since apparently booby trapping is illegal, perhaps a security sensor triggered stolen money dye sprayer can be implemented to make finding them easier...

Are only deadly booby traps illegal? Say maybe a few oc canisters of fox 5.0 speed dumping. Maybe a few tasers gut height or that fancy shot gun shell taser round that shocks you but stops in your still but keeps going if you start moving.
