She will do separate checks. Bringing her too much business. I gotta call her tomorrow to sort it out. Shouldn't be a big deal. She just sent me this ridiculous contract to sign and we gotta sit in G-Pop. It's basically a reservation for 26 or so.

OK... we're back in. My wife has been keeping things from me. Things like she has to be back in town on the 16th to meet with the Pres of TAMU. I thought our summer vacation was getting delayed. "Shortened" was unfortunately more accurate. Who knew?
And she's challenging you over-confident knuckleheads to try to keep up with a South African carnivore. If I were you, don't take the challenge. I've seen her eat the ends off of chicken bones like they were fries. |

She will be hangry when we get there, she usually eats at 4pm each day . They are getting a bit out there with the reservation. The location lists capacity of 300, and 4 private room capability, with 11, 30, 30, and 40, with the possibility of combining the 30 and 40 rooms to accommodate up to 100. They are trying to get us to commit to a 30 room at $100 per head. If they filled every set once per evening at $50 - they do $15K per evening. They are trying to make up to 20% of an evening take off of us.

I can bring something like ribs, brisket, smoked chickens, whatever.
I'm also not trying to poo poo on Lug1's dinner. I am still in if the dinner happens. I just don't appreciate our group being treated that way. Every person involved in the planning process that has mentioned anything about this place has yet to say anything positive about the experience working with them. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting the posts. Perhaps they have 10 other groups just as big as us lined up that will spend more money and we are just second string. Maybe big groups are actually a nuisance for them and they would rather have a bunch of two tops. All I know is they should feel fortunate to have a group like us come and spend a lot of hard-earned dollars at their business. |

I don't know if Reble_Yell is coming down for the Allen show, but tacton may have a table. I might get one, but @ this point probably not. I'm on the wait list, but I lost money on the table this weekend.
ETA: Allen's about a 20 minute or so drive to Addison, so easy to go to the show & then dinner. It's not the world's best show - it's an oddly laid out medium show, but the usual suspects have tables. |
