Moving to the IF area this year and was wondering where you guys go for distance? I stopped in Cabelas last week and talked with a kid who said he heads west of the city out in the "desert." I took 20/26 on the way home and all I saw was a ton of fence with a bunch of grazing cattle. Is there any BLM land out there or is it all private property?

Don't know if it matters at all, but in all reality I won't be shooting any further than 800 yards or so. Thanks for any insight guys!

Down in Blackfoot there is club called Cedar Hills, they have indoor pistol range, shotgun area, and up to 200 yards shielded from wind.  And about a thousand yard range for longer shooting in wind.

Also, the phone map app called OnX works pretty good to tell if you are on private ground or BLM or FS.  The state just changed the trespass laws a year or two ago to hardcore suck ass.
