Here's my AAR from today. I made it to the Colorado Springs headquarters a little before noon after my non air conditioned drive from up north. I met the people there and introduced myself. Seems like they are good people and very busy. I was given a recall Morse sign and headed out to a polling location. On powers and Airport? Seemed like a lot of people showed up to vote for a Saturday. I met a really cool older gentleman named Gene who was holding a recall Morse sign. I stuck around with him for a few hours and had a great conversation with him. Very like minded not an arfcommer though.
Annyways, from what I saw a vast majority of people driving in were giving us thumbs up and waiving/ honking. It was very encouraging to hear the vocal support we received as well. I maybe saw 5 thumbs down the whole time. I was able to guide people to the correct polling places. Seems many people were confused on where to go. Only one person had a negative reaction. He drove up to us and stated he was army for 23 years and the recall was a waste of money. 500k that could be used elsewhere. He was against Morse and an NRA supporter but felt we should gave waited till 2014. We tried to explain that considering how fast they ramrodded these bills through, they need to govasap. Letting them proceed could allow even more of our rights to be eroded. Recalling is a necessary cost. Not sure where 500 k came from.
Ended on a good note as some people approached us and thanking us, which was a common reaction.
Lastly, I saw some shady Morse people close to the entrance.. They were supposed to be 100 feet away from the building. Many signs said this. I approached them and asked if the had pamphlets or what they were doing. Their response was oh were just getting people to vote and telling them...the truth. I just responded in well great get as many people to vote. We want the people to be heard. It kind of caught them off guard as they expected me to respond angrily to their rude attitude.
Well that was my day. It was fun and enlightening. Had to depart later and headed to keystone for some needed relaxation. Over and out.
