The nearest range I'm aware of is the Golden Valley range, run by the Missour DOC.  It is unmanned, free, and open every day, except Wednesday.  It is just outside (west) of Clinton on hwy 18.
I wouldn't bother with Lake City range.  They don't seem to be the friendliest group of rangemasters, IMHO.

Thanks- I knew of Golden Valley but have never shot there. I guess I will check it out. Thanks for the info on it though. The way my luck goes I would have went down on a wednesday.

Of course, you guys can always IM me or email, and we can get together at Bull's Eye for indoor fun in smaller numbers.  They can handle anything up to .50BMG.

Which Bulls Eye are you talking about?
Is there one in MO I don't know about?
I know of one in KS.

In Saint Louis, there is the Bull's Eye Indoor Pistol Range, about 300m west of the Kingshighway intersection on Manchester road.

They used to have a website, but that appears to be defunct.  They are in operation, as I talked to Gary yesterday.

Another Springfielder here - Llanero and CZ75, we'll have to get together sometime.  I usually pack up and go to Busiek for an afternoon.  I have some friends in the St.Louis area and lived in KC for a couple of years.

I think we're catching up with TX for membership!!!

Busiek sounds good--prolly won't be able to  make it out there until the second week of Feb.
Got too much stuff going on right now!

With us, it's always the more the merrier. Me and a couple of other guys in the Columbia area try to hook up every weekend (though obviously weather and schedule permitting) and shoot. IM or Email me if you want to come up one of these weekends and shoot. Do you know PitSnipe? He's from your area as well.

I'm new to the AR board.  I've been lurking on the other AK board and on the Fal files.  Currently, I don't have a black rifle, but I'll be picking one up at Knob Creek in April.

I live in St. Charles and work at Boeing.  I've done some of the competitive shoots at Busch that Boeing has put on.  It's a lot of fun and a great excuse to hurl lead.

Shamus, no I don't know Pitsnipe, at least not by that name. The only people I know with the black rifle are the ones I occasionally meet at the DOC Scrivner Shooting range in Russelville, bout 10 min from Jeff.  Would love to get with some of you guys, maybe you can help me sight this thing in.  Got a decent pattern, just not where I want it, lol.  Let me know when you're going.  Won't be able to this weekend though due to prior obligations (going to Daytona 500). Later

Warrensburg here.  I've been to a Columbia shoot and it was great.

Unfortunately, I've been so busy I only get to shoot once a month maybe.

One thing to keep in mind is the Tulsa gunshow is April 5-6.

I'm not actually in Missouri(12 miles south of the state line in Arkansas), but I do go to campouts near Springfield. They're not JUST for shooting, but there is plenty of shooting done at them. The next one is in the middle of April.

To anyone in the KC area:

I know a dealer in Gardner, KS who deals out of his basement.  Great guy and will sell anything at 10% over cost.  $15 transfers.

Rifles only if you're in MO, obviously.

LOL! I live near the Des Peres McDonalds. I'm the other way from Manchester and Geyer. More towards the mall. I usually go out to Henges next to Beaumont, or to shoot trap I go to Weldon Springs area. I've tried Bullseye a couple times, but I like outdoor ranges. How about you?

Born at Fort Crowder...lived in Neosho for 6 months before we were transfered to the Nancy Ord Depot in France in '56.  To the best of my knowledge I've never been back.

But I'm still a native of Missouri and will always be.  Stuck in Dallas, TX, right now, but I'll be moving after the first of the year.  Don't want to leave TX since I've lived here since '59.  However, divorce will force a move and Dallas area sucks, trust me.

Likely move to Lufkin in East Texas.  My brother has an extra room.  I'll be 48 and broke after 26 years of marriage and 3 kids.  Jeez, what a deal.  Who knows, may end up in MO or KS (both my folks were proud Kansans).

Kansan by heritage, Missourian by birth, and Texan by chance.

Shootist...if I can find my BC, I'll look up my old address.  I wonder if my first home still stands.

I live in Gladstone just north of Downtown Kansas City. I just traded for/purchased my 3rd AR-15 from Denny's Guns on Friday 2 May 2003. I have done about 8 deals with them over the years and have had excellent service everytime.

They have a great shop and a great staff. It is a great place to stop in if you get to the KC area.

Best regards,

Brent
