Glulam beams and trusses go up tomorrow. With any luck, roof should be covered with plywood this weekend. Then I have to decide on how many skylights are going in. After that, shingles go on and the gutter and downspouts get installed.
With any luck we'll be done soon and I can work on getting the hot tub installed. |

It's a work in progress. The original idea has changed several times since its inception.
The roofing is complete. We are working on shear walls, railings and the ceiling now. Will take some more pictures as I have time. |

Fuckin' awesome. It's really comin' together now.
You ever get that "splatter" issue taken care of, between the house and the deck roof? |

I'm either gonna have the gutter guy put a gutter there or flash the overhang to just miss the gutter. That will make the rain hit the roof first and drain into the existing gutter. |

I'd totally break my neck if that was my deck, falling down that spiral staircase drunk. |

We built a garage for my grandfather years ago that was close to the house and matched the overhang situation you have there. His remedy was flashing. It didn't take much at all to cure it. |
|
That was my thought. As it is now, the rain drains right into the existing gutter and creates a splash. I figured some flashing would extend the roof edge enough to keep it from doing that. Thanks for the reinforcement.

PCR needs one of those! That's quite a deck. It should serve you well.
Did you wire for lights? I won't bust your balls for the cut post because I know that's gonna be fixed most ricky tic. I am curious about the gable siding though. |

I am curious about the gable siding though. I'm gonna run lights around the perimeter once the hot tub wiring is installed. I'll be utilizing the 110 circuit that comes out of the hot tubs GFCI to accomplish that. Any other electrical, like the TV and Stereo will be done through conduit under the deck. The post isn't cut, it hasn't been installed yet. That's just a filler to keep the dogs from falling in the hole. Once the hot tub is on the deck there will be a post there. From the post will be a wall that connects to the one on the right of it. The guy who did the siding hasn't done it for many years. He's going to cut the siding at the top of the gable and install the trim piece that should have been installed first. His words, if I screw it up, I'll make it right. |
