Its a growing concern, of that there is no doubt. Its not just a few fringe elements on the left and/or right that are concerned.

Meh, so long as they got it for cheap/free, I'm ok with that. (Speaking specifically to the Wright County one, as I live in Wright)

Shit does happen and it's better to have it and never need it than need it and not have it. The odds of it ever collecting more than a paint scratch are pretty slim, and that's ok. I expect most of it's use will be as a part of a DARE program, or in parades.

I'd by hyper-annoyed if they actually had to pay money for it, but they didn't...and outside of St. Michael, Albertville, and Monticello the county is about as quiet as they come, IMO.

All it takes is one group of assholes to decide to make a point with blood to justify this shit these days...at least our county Sheriff is a 2nd supporter and probably knows an armed populace is the best backstop against crap like that happening.

The point being that people are concerned about what they are seeing.

There is a group of people whom believe that gun ownership in America is something of great concern.  There is likewise a group of people whom believe that the police are becoming militarized.  Whether either point of view is correct or incorrect is  not relevant as perception drives politics and public opinion.

I totally agree that the media in this country, for the most part,  has become nothing more than a propaganda  and brainwashing tool in order to drive public opinion.  We gun owners have had to learn not to take public opinion lightly, I think that LEO should likewise address or at least be cognizant of the growing perception, or reality, of militarization.

To deny that there is a growing perception is folly.  That denial could well lead to a divide among LEO and the public.

No Apaches or Blackhawks yet?

400k for something the gov't barely used, sold for a couple grand to police who will hardly ever get a chance to use it.  .Gov waste at its finest.

Don't get me started...ever seen how many non classroom staff are on the rolls at schools these days?

And all the wonderful mustang GT cars the state patrol rolled the first year! The count I saw was 14 but I am guessing it was much more. 28k each and not one arrest.
