Hey 161, what do you have against dogs? |

Simply because the discourse illuminates often misunderstood language. The join or die has a comedy nuance to it and yet is only three words long conveying much more with much less. |
True, but Stratiotes, you have a tendency to post things, quotes, slogans, even a few of your own phrases without any real explanation of what you mean by them. They might seem glaringly obvious to you, but to the reader, who is not inside your head, they aren't so clear. Context is needed for others to understand what you are truly trying to say. |

Well, um, okay. Thanks for hanging in there. |

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The second amendment is all about a civilian military power not under the control of the state, do not confuse the united states code with the second amendment. The national gaurd is a unconstitutional unlawful criminal organization. |
Please explain the basis for that claim. |
To understand the Dick act you need to understand the delegated powers and authority of congress, congress does not have the authority to make unconstitutional law, it can only apply the militia for
When they formed a standing army called national gaurd subject to the army and then use that force in the states it is very unlawful, in fact it is down right treason. |

when I first read this thread title, I thought it was about The INVASION!

Your post substantiated none of that.

With statements like that I'll still stand by my theory that you are a .gov plant, trying to sound as radical as possible to bring in other loonies, for you cannot possibly be that far out there. |

It is the most basic constitution precept, to exceed authority is color of law and a serious crime, it is not the same as you injuring another individual, the violation of the supreme law violates not only the people and their natural rights but the very reason the rule of law exists.

I say they are "Sheeple" because they are unable or unwilling to throw off the chains that have enslaved them for so long. Some people in this country have become acustomed to their slavery and the weight of their chains is not too much of a burden to them because they don't know anything different. In fact when others decide they've had enough these same sheeple will ultimately turn against them because they are so afraid of change to their comfort zone. They have no concept of freedom because they like their chains so well and they want to keep them. Here's another analogy for you. I'm sure you've all heard about the "boiling the frog" routine. Put some frogs in cold water and gradually turn up the heat over a long period of time. The frogs never revolt (aka: jump out of the pan) because the tempurature is so gradual that they become acustomed to it. And after a period of time the frogs are cooked because they didn't know they were being cooked. Well the problems we are having with our government right now are very similar to that alalogy. Instead of cooking us they are killing us by taking our liberties away. They've been turning up the heat a lot lately. You see there are some of us older frogs who remember when we had cold water (freedom). The younger frogs who were born in warm water don't know any different and have become acustomed to it. When some of us older frogs tell you younger frogs it's time to jump out of the water you guys look at us like we're crazy. You see I remember a time when I had a lot more personal freedoms than I have now. There was a time when as a 12 year old kid I could take my .22 rifle out in the woods by myself and shoot squirrels and nobody would pay me no mind. Before my hunting trip I would go to the local country store in Loomis, WA and buy several boxes of ammo. No questions asked. Things are a lot different now. I have seen a gradual loss of our liberties. Looking back over the past 50 years or so I would have to say it is by design and no accident. I will say this: I did not spend a year in Viet Nam just so I could come home and raise a family and watch my children and grandchildren become slaves in a socialist police state. I refuse to be a sheep! If some of you Dolly lovers out there are content with remaining in sheepdom that's ok with me, that's your choice. Just don't try to drag me down with you when I jump out of the poverbial frying pan! |

I do as well. Reading through this thread, I find that agree with most of Strat's comments. |

Your point is an intelligent one, and I'd agree that each generation, as a whole, has and will continue to arrive to accept & embrace the status quo. They'll have no concept of the freedoms lost, nor of the blood & sweat that was spent on the prosperity they consider an entitlement. It'll be a fool who expects anything different. The same can be said for each generation of this very young country.... including yours. However, pointing at your blame or placing it on the next generation, is about as futile of a remedy as can be imagined. Yesterday is gone, and the next generation lives in the world that their parents left them with, just as yours was. Our real job is to 'improvise, overcome, and adapt', no different than anyone else's, or at any other time. Change will come with necessity, and so will motivation. But that time has not quite arrived yet, no matter what the lone man on the rooftop tells you. When it does come, the problem and the desire to fix it will be blatant, and insurmountable. History proves it, and so will the future. Propheting will be of no use to anyone then either. |

An old proverb is the wise rush out to meet trouble and reduces it by half. Do you disagree with this reasoning from the war for independence period ?
A modern example of failing to learn the lesson of history is from hurricane Katrina, the Arkansas National Gaurd went door to door taking rifles with out due process, they can not give back the property that they stole from people that own that property lawfully. Yes the proverb that the only thing we learn from history is that people do not learn from history is only true of the greatest majority, it is still veru possible to reach the reachable. I agree the greatest majority will not take action and scorn those who do, but I see very large numbers of people sensing there is some thing very wrong and that it is time for action, to not warn those people is to have their blood on my head. |

Authority was not exceeded in forming the National Guard.
Not unconstitutional Not Unlawful Not a criminal organization. |
Wait. Was it not the CHP that was taking firearms and not the National Guard???
Both took firearms ! There were many different military organizations in NOLA including Mexican marines. |
Senator Dick was a General and the entire Dict act is unconstitutional, NG 1903 second Amendment 1791. The purpose of the second amendment was to not have military organization under state control, the state control militia is spelled out in the constitution not the second amendment. |
I've never before heard that the Arkansas National Guard was involved with seizures.
The only ones I have heard or read about are the locals who did the vast majority of it, a US Marshalls group, a California CHP detail, and an Oklahoma NG unit/patrol and all done after New Orleans Police Superintendent Edwin Compass ordered it. |
<sigh> as already posted in this thread.

That's another point I wouldn't disagree with in the slightest. In fact, that's probably one of the wisest things I've seen written on these boards. But for the sake of argument, living in a suspended state of false alarm doesn't strike me as very realistic or healthy, either.
No, I do not. But the "first experiments" were only the first. Otherwise, they would just be "the experiments". Sadly, "The freeman of America" have waited, and until we are awoken, we will continue to sleep. I agree fully with RD, that this is by design, not by accident. You and a few others may have escaped the 'consumerism/materialism treadmill' titled the American Dream, but if so, you're very alone Strat. Very fucking alone. As you know, the majority of Americans have planned, (and made arrangements), to die flat broke and completely destitute. They will leave their offspring with massive debt and without any promise of a better life than they had. I hope you would warn others to look at this reality first, before worrying about what the politicians are up to. (Pssst, They will always be up to no good.) No, it's not as fun to train for, and all the cool gear isn't warranted, but it's by far more eminent IMO. There's another saying, that I sometimes think of when I read some of your posts; The nail that sticks up, gets pounded down. I wonder sometimes, if you really stand much of a chance at all, if your war ever comes as you pray for. Reloading on weekends and discounting others opinions on the internet might prove to be an effective method of recruitment, I don't know. But I'd lay off some of the deliberate alienating, and the name calling, if it were me. |

+1 But it's the public companies that are doing it TO THEM... And if that wasn't bad enough, the corporations have convinced these drones to buy shares in the same stock exchanges that are killing them. |
Blackwater was also there, kicking in doors and taking guns. There was also a video clip showing a National Guard sodier being interviewed. He said something to the effect, "Gee, I hope I don't have to shoot American citizens if they resist." (or words to that effect) Which proves that this dufus is also a sheep with a gun and was dumb enough to follow unconstitutional orders. |
What ever happened to Edwin Compass? He certainly lost his way (intended pun!) when he ordered the gun grab. He conveniently retired in the wake of the Katrina fiasco. I think he couldn't stand the heat of answering tough questions about his unconstitutional order to sieze firearms in New Orleans. |
About a month after the hurricane hit Louisiana Compass announced he was resigning/quitting.
I think there should be a warning icon on certain threads, "Tinfoil Hat Required".
I'm just sayin'... |
I believe he's working hotel security, somewhere in New Orleans. Not kidding. |

Given what the government is trying to do, ANYTHING is possible. |
ROTFL! Now that's funny! Hey, I'm just doing my thing: Trying to fly under the radar and be as faceless as possible. All the while learning about and doing what interests me, earning/investing as much money as possible while trying to have a little fun doing it. Complain about the state of this country/government all you want, it is still the best nation in the world to live in with many opportunities for making money. Besides, I see many doom and gloom comments how terrible things are...yet nothing about plans to change things or positive comments. Maybe I am just an optimistic, naive simpleton who doesn't know any better. |

That what the German Jews thought in 1939, things did get much brighter in the next few years for them and a bunch of other people.

US Constitution,
Washington Constitution,
Insurrection, an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government n. The act or an instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government. The militia is everyone, this state defines it almost the same as the US Code. The militia is here to keep the government in check. But the state and federal government can call up the militia to stop an insurrection. Wait, isn't the militia there to violently resist the government if needed? Or in other words an insurrection? So the militia is there to rise up in insurrection against the state and/or federal governemnt, but is also there to be called up that governemnt to stop the insurrection. |
Which is it? |
That is precisely it, now who decides what insurrection ? The constitution ? yes but congress can also pass laws and have then enforced as long as they are not unconstitutional. If congress passes unconstitutional laws and the people resist the enforcement with force that is not insurrection but law enforcement of the second amendment, as in "Necessary for the security of the free state". That is the difference between article 1 sec 8 and the second amendment. |
It's also the difference between a lawful and an unlawful order. If the order given is lawful according to some code, but isn't Constitutional then IMO it's unlawful and not to be obeyed. |
Hey, you're preaching to the choir here... Albeit there were those insightful and enterprising individuals who possessed enough foresight to see the writing on the wall and left for safer areas of the world and have made terrific contributions to those societies in which they settled. You can see much the same thing occuring in countries like Venezuela, where the educated and highly-skilled people with the means to leave have done so, rapidly depleting such nations of their brain/skill trust...and rightfully so. Don't get me wrong, knowing how to defend yourself and your family and learning how to survive tough times is terrific (and the very reason why I find forums like this to be so useful). I also like the idea of like-minded individuals banding together for mutual defense (i.e. a post-Katrina SHTF situation). Having spent nearly a decade in the .mil, and knowing what a juggernaut .mil really is; all of this talk about armed insurrections and such seems to border on the suicidal to me. |
Um, what was he speaking about? Could he have been talking about hoping he wouldn't have to shoot a looter/rapist/thug? Where is this video clip so that we may view it ourselves and make up our own minds? |

Sam Adams Patrick Henry Thomas Paine were accused of treason and a price was placed on their heads, and they did not have a first amendment gaurantee that was supposed to protect individual natural rights against government infringement. The nail that stick up gets driven down is a japanese saying, the tallest grass is the first to be scythed is a soviet saying, both at the time tyrannical states. |

While I applaude your "take no prisoners" approach, our founding fathers didn't have the National Reconnaisance Office, Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, and the Echelon communications protocol watching their every move. I am all for affecting change from the inside as much as possible and am willing to go almost any distance to do so. However, if the cause is hopelessly lost, then obviously discretion is the better part of valor. So when/if the jack-booted thugs land their black helicopters on my lawn so as to take me and mine away to the gulag...I plan on being long gone. Why, because I am simply a middle-aged single father with young children to raise, and am not looking to be a matyr. So go get 'em tiger, it won't be me...but I'm sure somebody will strip your corpse split up your gear after you're gone. |
