I made quota for the year on Sat...brought two new shooters into the sport!!  My 15 year-old nephew and a co-worker's son, both having never fired before.  I ran them thru the NRA Basic Pistol course materials, but with a .22 rifle given their ages, sure enough by the end of the session both were printing consistently at 25ft and the older one was out to 50ft.

This makes three years (not in a row, unfortunately) where I've brought in two new shooters.  Time to raise the quota to three!

Is it OK if I bring my 15 year-old nephew?  If so, can he shoot (legally he can, just need to know if range rules prohibit this)?

All those showing up...
Remember:

1) 12:00 noon till 4:00pm is AR15.com shooting time.
I will not be down there until 11:30am so please if you show up early DO NOT START SHOOTING until I arrive just so I can make sure everything is good to go. Someone else should be there at the club so go on in, sit down and relax and state you are with AR15.com.

2) $10.00 a head donation to the club is requested.

3) Make sure what you have on you is Jersey legal.
If you are not sure ask here and I know someone will school you on it.
If "the man" shows up to check things out YOU will be the accountable one for what you have.

4) There are NO range Nazis at Buckeye.
SAFETY is EVERONE"S job. We all will be expected to police one another like in the past. We all should know the basic gun safety rules and if you do not they are posted on the back door at Buckeye for your reading pleasure. Screw up and expect another AR15 brother to smack you back into "Safety Land".

5) Do not shoot over the berm.
I am asking that all targets be posted from the middle of the target area and lower. That way there is a larger margin for error.

Thank you for flying Buckeye!!!

Wind gusts appear to be up to 40mph here in Ocean County.

I guess we'll call this the "Extreme Artic Wind Fest".

Hi All-

It was great seeing you all again and there were some NEW faces.

Firstly let me thank Bobby_The_Hun for all his efforts in coordination this AR15.com mini-blast. Ray for being a great Safety/Range Officer and Host. Buckeye GC for allowing us to kill their bowling pins, back drop and berm.

The "hut" was toasty warm and snug and the sweet smell of wood burning made me wish Mrs. Lion_dog was near .

NJCSD had a nice show of support with the coveted "Fahrfromdyin'" shirt being sold and NJCSD pitching for new members. You new shooters, visit with us for free as a member on NJCSD WEBSITE. See, experience the passion of how we will ALL champion our firearms interests with our mutual support. We WILL succeed - it will be HARD work and require much financial support, but if we don't do it who will?

Like I said, great seeing you all!
