$611/week? Really? Wow, last time I was on UC the max was only about $525 - and that was last year at this time. I could live fairly reasonably on $611/week - at least for a while. Ah, the perks of being (mostly) debt free

I don't know yet what I'm getting.  $611 a week would be nice, that almost $16 an hour for doing nothing.

Rumor has it DTNA down here is laying off Friday (my 98th day of unemployment). I start on Monday replacing a guy that is going back to the Lazy B (what hiring freeze?). Fuck it, I'm foing.

I enjoyed the first two months even though I sold some things to make ends meet. UI is only $507/wk max w/ Obama/taxpayer bump in Oregon.

There isn't much that is as exhilarating as not knowing what is going to happen next. Have fun!

Gibby

Sorry to hear that.

I hope something turns up quickly for you.

In the meantime .... having alot of free time during the summer months could equal some good times or completion of some home / yard projects you've been putting off.

Best of luck

Gibby... check your IM's.  I have a line on two tech support jobs you may be interested in. Unfortunately, both are in DT Seattle.  One is with a company I'm currently interviewing with, they are looking for a lot of people with some level of Exchange, ASAP!  They want to hire so fast, they want me to give my current employeer a 1 week (or less) notice rather than the standard two.

Hey Gibby......I talked with a friend that works for Siemens out at Microsoft and they are needing people pretty bad. I'm not sure what type of IT experience you have, but from what he said; there are alot of positions on different levels.

But, if you have your A+ certification that would put you ahead of the other applicants that aren't certified. It's not required though. Here are some other prospects:

Siemens

Aditi

Allyis

Volt Technical Resources

Excell

Good Luck, sir!!

Well I get the blue envelope today and I thinking great my first check!

Nope.

"No payment in being issued for the week ending 6/13/09"

So it appears that with me filing last Tuesday that last week was my waiting week.

I hate to be a dark cloud... BUT........ Don't get your hopes up to far.

Because you worked last week (albiet 2 days), they may have decided you made to enough money. THIS week might be your waiting week, and you will not see a check until the week of 29th-5th for non-work the week of the 22nd-28th.

That is what happened to me, I didn't see an actual check for almost 3 weeks, Although, I was let go on a Thursday or Friday, not a Tuesday. But I still filed everything they day it happened.  Continue to file your claim even if this is your waiting week.
