Yes, I like it here because I don't have to fear banning/censorship for simply disagreeing (and pointing out obvious double standards) with the moderators. I've never, ever been banned from any website, and I'm a member on LOTS of them. (Obviously, not under this nick, though.) Some of them are run by very religious people who don't tolerate profanity of any sort...and some are like this one, where the mods generally stay out of the fray unless it wanders into illegal territory.

I don't have a problem when the rules are clearly posted. What I have a problem with is your heavy-handed banning of people who broke your feelings, and then retro-active rules to explain away your behaviour and prevent the truth from coming out. And that's exactly what your soon-enacted rule of "not posting about past events or banned people" was all about. If you had nothing to hide, people could have discussed the truth openly. Like we did here.

Well you must talk him and the kids into going to one of many events that arfcomers go to.   I can think of one that you and the family would be sure to enjoy.  The Hun Farm in Texas is coming up in may,  I am going to it and it is a freakin blast regarldess of age or gender or family as long as you like to shoot, camp out, hangout or party etc.   You might want to check it out in the tex forum.

On www.okshooters.com I did add the rule about not re-visiting locked threads but I offered that anyone was welcome to discuss any issues with me in private.
Anyone who broke the rule was simply warned and directed to the rule change.
I expected the courtesy of people not to pile up our site with "where the hell did my posts go" threads until i could explain things.
I was not given that courtesy and it is very obvious that some of the offenders reside here on ARFcom.The same people that are claiming I tried to 'pull a fast one',so to speak.

I have no real regrets about them though because in the grand scheme of things they are now meaningless.
One of the things that I do wish would have happened was that Kelly had set up the rules before we started.Obviously that caused some confusion and some hard feelings by people with little or no patience.
The rules that he created are *slightly* more strict  than what I would have written but hey....he's the boss.
We are having great success over at www.okshooters.com despite a few growing pains.

It is a great site with lots of good people and valuable resources.

If you are the type of person who reduces arguments to personal attacks you are not welcome there.
Likewise,if you like to spew blatantly anti-government,anti-police ,or racist propaganda you are not welcome there either.

I don't agree with 100% of what happened over there, but you guys over here are acting like freaking middle schoolers.  I thought that adults were supposed to have more sense that that.

If you don't like how a site is run, then leave.  That is it.  I recall hearing one member say that the internet isn't like someone's business or home and they shouldn't be smacked down by the mods.  Well, I'm sorry to say, that's not how I run my site.  I get along with members because they make an attempt at getting along with me.  I will warn first and then take action (assuming that the first infraction isn't just completely over the edge).

MB does have an ego that I can see over the net.   But who cares, I just don't make it a point of dealing with him in posts or otherwise.  I enjoy the site and he doesn't bring it down in my eyes.  He was wrong to get into a verbal altercation with members in threads, but from what I can tell, it has improved and I haven't seen as much tude coming from him lately.

The issue would be dead, but shitze keeps coming back.  I would gladly put it to rest if JP would not come back.  Many of us have not gone back over there, but he will not show the same respect.
I agree it has become a bit childish, as I have stooped to his level.  But as my wife tells me all the time, I still act like a kid the vast majority of the time!
I disagree totally about JP being reasonable.  He was a prick over at OSA, and when we all left, he started posting over here regularly.  That is by definition a troll!

Patrick, before I started really knocking shitze, I told him if he stayed away, we'd leave him alone and he wouldn't feel so bad about things. shitze is looking for all kinds of ways to strike back for having his self-styled internet image tarnished. He mentioned that some of us have been banned on another forum, some of us off many. He's talking about me and SigForum, I pissed off the owner, not becaause of a controversial subject, but because I told everyone SigArms was introducing the GSR, two weeks before the SigForum had the "sole" oppurtunity to announce. It pissed him off so bad, he banned me on the 3 or o 4 other gunforums he owns. 1shott can tell you about the guy. He's vindictive.

I'm not here to stroke anybody's ego including JP and Mike and I'm not a suck up from OSA in disguise.  I think Mike has an ego that can easily be sensed on the forums and I also think it gets out of hand at times, but as I said before, I just don't make it a point to PM or reply to most of his posts either.I've just been sitting back watching what's been going on.

I agree that maybe since my first posts have been what they've been, then yes, I do fall under the troll category.  But I'm not taking any cheap shots or insulting anyone here.  I was just giving a viewpoint from someone that hasn't been in the mix so far.

I truly do enjoy the info that this site provides and the only reason I hadn't joined until Jan was cause I didn't expect to post much anyhow.  I just think that the insults have gone way beyond being reasonable and everybody needs to get back to what these sites used to be.  Everybody hanging out and bustin' each other balls with a back lying friendliness.

And  Sister, I was referring to you with the hag comment and that wasn't appropriate.  I use the term too much around my own sisters and wife and have for years, but don't mean disrespect by it.  It's just a term I use too much.  I know that isn't how it was taken and I apologize.  I don't know you well enough to toss it your direction....yet.  I'm not just going to be a member that shows up to cause trouble and I hope y'all don't look at it that way.  I just thought it had been long enough now to start dying down and was just putting in my 2¢.

What really kick started things over here about the whole entire incident is when "someone" banned me from OSA and then refused to point to a rule I violated. The rules were then rapid fire changed over a short period of time to show cause for banning me. I couldn't keep up with the rule changes. Basically, I feel that I was banned for pointing out some hypocritical things and some double standards that I saw. That's BS. Look at my post history on OSA compared to others. I'm pretty tame.  I had 100% feedback with numerous transactions in the classifieds forum as well. I have 100% feedback here and I have 100% feedback everywhere else I can think of.

I was then told by J.P. that he wouldn't allow me back on OSA because he felt that all I would do is point out the double standards. HELLO MCFLY! If they weren't there, I couldn't point them out.

It's got nothing to do with being like a middle schooler. It's got to do with I know I was the victim of a couple of moderators that refuse to admit their mistakes or talk about them in public. It should be noted that I've received overwheleming support from this site in the original thread I posted about the incident.

I had to post it here because a lot of us held a dual membership to AR15 and OSA and I was unable to post anything over there (read BANNED and still BANNED to this day).

This is not a whine by any stretch of the imagination, this is me telling folks what went down from my point of view.

I have a perfect track record of internet deals.
I've never tried to screw anyone on any deal,that's not my style.
What you are doing by saying that ,is trying to tarnish my buying/selling record.


The truth of the matter is,I only vaguely remember that deal and when I asked you about it a little while ago,all you said was that I "would rather sell it out of state".

I've never said I was perfect and I've admittedly made a few mistakes and I will most likely continue to make more.that's how humans work.I always try to resolve any issues to be best of my ability and if I cannot,i seek advice from others.
