HB 29 now has twenty sponsors and has been assigned to the committee on Veterans, Military Affairs, & Public Protection. In the House, bills do not receive committee assignments unless there could be a good chance of a committee hearing for that bill. This is not a guarantee but is a good sign that this bill may be heard soon. Gun bills are often sent to Veterans, Military Affairs, & Public Protection Committee or to the Judiciary Committee. This is an easier path for the bill, IMO. You can see HB 29 here:

HB 29 has been voted out of committee with a favorable recommendation and now moves on to the floor for a vote by the full House.

The committee vote for HB 29 was 15 yes, 1 no and 2 passing. The one "No" vote was by Pamela Stevenson D, Distrist 43 in western Jefferson County. HB 29 is now on the Regular Calendar for Thursday, March 3, for a vote by the full House.

On Thursday, HB 29 was passed by the full House after a floor amendment by Savannah Maddox. The amendment spells out criminal penalties for offenders. The vote was 75- 20. HB 29 now goes to the Senate.

F the majority leader. He won't let anything that guarantees freedom pass.

If there was money he could pay to pass it, he absolutely would.

Not much. Just wishes and hopes. Missouri passed one a year or two ago and it was almost immediately challenged in a federal lawsuit. It still hasn't been resolved.

Not much really. Just means local police won't enforce. But the feds still can/will. Many counties are already 2a Sanctuary. Pretty toothless really.

I'm guessing this is a state wide sanctuary movement?
