Reagan signed off on the automatic weapons ban.

In the last 25 years there've been some massive improvements!

More people carry than ever before, and on the whole they're better at it - training and information is available like never before, and the younger folks are very very interested in guns of all types.
I think that's enough to establish that there's plenty of reason to keep fighting -
we've actually gained a lot more ground in the last 25 years than the 25 prior.
But we need to understand: it's not a battle that stops. Our forefathers fought it, and our descendants will always be fighting it, until humans no longer seek to rule.
So you have to take the breaks yourself, since the fight for liberty will never stop on its own.
If you've been working at it for 25 years, then you deserve a break - spend some time with family, get outside.
Just try your best not to get discouraged, and especially not to discourage the people on the side of freedom.
Stop reading politics for a month or six, and take a niece or nephew to the range and have some fun turning money into noise.
You'll do more for gun rights and freedom doing that than any casual amount of emailing or calling anyway, so keep doing that.
