I have several ranging from ultra cheap to ridiculously expensive.

This very basic one has served me well it's built like a tank. I got it off Ebay from a company called 4x4 machine shop and it cost about $60 shipping was free. You can use it to remove install both front and rear dovetail sights and I've used it on pistols from several different manufacturers.

Looks like this:

There are several Ebay sellers of this particular pusher tool and prices vary.

I use this https://www.amazon.com/Real-Avid-Sight-Pusher-Glock/dp/B09V8HMF3S

It comes with the front sight tool that is actually really nice. It changes into a take down tool. The nice thing about this set up is you don't have to use a vice. I change sights on mine and friends Glocks all the time and never have to go out to the work bench and  use the bigger sight tool which uses the vice. Most places charge around $35 to change sights. This sight pusher pays for itself after a few uses.

I did these three the other day and it only took me about an hour and I never left my home office to do it. Two sets of Night Fusion sights and a set of Trijicon sights.

I think the one I have is made by TruGlo. Works well enough, but I have to shim up the piece that holds the slide for G-43s. Otherwise, the pusher sits too high to make solid contact with the sight. It's a make-do situation, but I wouldn't enthusiastically recommend. I don't recall this issue when using it with a G-17 slide.

This.  I have a similar one I purchased off eBay for around $35 and used it to install night sights on at least a dozen Glocks without a single issue.

Another vote here for the $35 eBay type sight pusher.

I was able to install mine with just a little grease and tap with a non-marring hammer, worked fine less than 5 min.    Heinei rear, on a G48

I bought the Wheeler sight tool. I've used it on Glock, M&P, and Staccato so far and it works really well. I've had no issues with it. Any issues were operator error.

I've been pleased with the NcStar rear sight pusher. It has worked just fine on every slide I have used it on to include Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 Glock slides. The NcStar sight pusher is far from the best but it is a good value for the money and works.

Although I've got a really nice unit I procured off eBay some time ago, I find the rear dovetail cut on Glocks easy to work with just a brass punch and the slide in the bench vise. I've done several like this without issue. The factory plastic units come out like butter, and I use Night Fision exclusively when I replace. They seem to be cut just right (no need to fit like the 1911 world.) A little cold blue after the install to clean up the slight brass markings and we're good to go.

Just me..

I've always used a steel punch with a fired 22 brass over it.

They've gotten a bit more affordable than when I bought one.

Well worth the cost.

MGW also adapted quickly when Glock released the 42/43 by quickly releasing an adapter for their base pusher.

I'm considering an MGW and was going to ask if anyone thought it was worth the coin. Thanks.

That's why you clean off any brass marks that are left behind

Agreed. Same premise with me using brass punches.. whatever brass "residue" left on the steel sight after install comes clean with a little Eezox & cold blue. It's really not a big deal at all like some make it out to be.

I've found the Glock rear sights to be easy as pie to replace. FN? Please! Those little pricks are no fun at all. And don't even get me started on the FN front sights.

I have been using the MGW Universal Sight Installation Tool.  Expensive but it locks the slide in position for no damage to the slide or the sight.  Hammers and punches with night sights result in sight inserts being knocked loose.

MGW....can use it on any gun provided you
have the correct boot.

MGW....Only one I've ever used and durable, solid tool AFAIK.

This. Good to go. It’s “universal” and a fraction of the price of other pushers on the market.

I’ve always used a padded vise and a brass punch. 15 years of owning numerous Glocks, changed countless sights (tritium and regular) and I’ve never had an issue. The brass marks are easily removed with a little super fine steel wool and CLP.

I’m relatively OCD with my guns for the record, and I’ve never permanently marred anything up.

I’m not saying a sight pusher is a bad idea, but I change sights a bunch and haven’t seen the need to spend the money on a dedicated pusher.

Ditto this.
Glock sights are by far some of the easiest to change. A brass punch and a small hammer or nearby hard object is more than adequate to knock the rear sight out/in.
I've already used a pair of pliers if a hammer wasnt within reach.

If you have the money the Midwest Gun Works model is the way to go. The less expensive sight pushers are ok but just spend the money and get the MGW.

?....gun clamp'd in a vise(protect'd) and wood dowel with a light hammer work'd for me....lol...

This is the best of the best

You can get by with the cheaper ones and a hammer and punch at times but once you go cheap eventually you will mar up your sights, damage your slide, etc.

This. I put my slide in a vise with cardboard between the slide and jaws. Oil the dovetail and smack it on with a nylon hammer.  Works fine. No damage to the sights or tritium vials.  You can also use a brass punch. Bit of scotchbrite will remove any brass marks.
