Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - another colt python question

i'm doing some comparisons between the 6" python and my S&W 686 6".

I don't have a python to compare so my question is - what is the measurement of the python barrel from the bottom of the underlug to the top of the ventilated rib just behind the sight base?

on the 686 it's 1.255".

appreciate any replies.

1.286" on mine.
Just in front of the front sight base to bottom of lug.
On a 2 1/2" the rear of the sight goes all the way to the frame.

You bet. When I saw your post I had a Python about 3 feet away, and dial calipers about on my desk.
