I would snag a Sig P320
Had a chance to run a few mags thru it, shoots very well, I like the ergo's and the trigger is decent...

Honestly... I could pick any handgun and be fine with it... they all do the same thing.

My one handgun is a CZ Shadow 2/RMR/x300. Might consider a good 2011 though.

Not on your list.  It is my grandfather's Colt Python.  Fortunately, I am not restricted to just one.

If it cannot be my Glock, how about getting my old STI 2011 open gun back?

Does this count?
Serialized steel chassis, replaceable modular grip modules, 1911 grip angle.

Not on the list but I love the Walther P99 AS.

From the list, probably HK USP or P30...Sig P228 is a close second.

Your initial premise is false; I may have as many handguns as I desire, can afford, and can store.

As the failure of your initial premise is dispositive, any further discussion of the topic awaits its correction.

The folks sending your retirement checks may not let you maintain those legal options.

Sig P226. But in your scenario the 1911 is the gun I have to keep telling myself not to pick for all kinds of very logical, reasonable-sounding reasons that I *know* are true and accurate, no matter what my heart keeps telling me.

That is a slick setup.

I love the p99 but it just sucks that the decocker prevents it from being milled for an optic.

Are these in the wild yet?

Yea. My local gun store has at least one for sale right now.

I voted Beretta, with the old school steel 92/96 in mind.

One handgun, for all purposes? A Smith and Wesson "Mountain Gun" version of the N frame in 45 Colt.

I'm about the biggest Glock fan boy there is. That PDP will probably be my next handgun

That PDP looks really good. I tried the PPQ but man did that thing muzzle flip like crazy for a 9mm. If they somehow mitigated it I'll pick one up.

ETA: Is the PDP made to fit a G19 holster?

ETA2: The slide is squared and looks heavier. There's a lot of potential going on there.

I don't believe it is. Basically they smashed a PPQ and a competition gun together and made the PDP

Of the choices, Beretta.  Specifically, a Wilson Centurion Tactical.  Since I only get one, I'm going to cheat and also add an extra top end with a Langdon slide milled for an RMR and a threaded barrel.  I'll also be needing a .22 conversion.  Might as well get a .40 top end too while I'm at it.

A P30 or USP Compact would also be tempting, but with only having one, the availability of a .22 conversion is important to me.
