10 years or so ago, I bought a CM9.  I wanted the PM9, but decided to save some money.

Now, I'm thinking about getting the PM9 that I always wanted.

But, is it *really* worth it, especially if I already have the CM9?

Thanks for any replies.

My experience with Kahr is hit or miss...I had a PM9 that was very unreliable..I have a P9 that has been great...so basically if you have no issues with reliability with your CM9 I would be happy and content with that! I also have a Kahr in 380 the is ammo finicky

If your CM9 is reliable, stick with it. PM9 differences are entirely cosmetic and very minor. I believe the only reason Kahr kept the P series of guns was because they’re on the California approved list.

Good info, thanks.

My CM9, she's been a trusty steed.  I wouldn't want to lose that.

My MK 9 was fine . Trigger pull not great though . It was a bit heavy .

I’d prob swap for a pm9 .

The Cm and PM are the same except for Mim parts and cosmetics.

The PM9 has polygonal rifling vs the CM9 having traditional rifling.

I am on my second CM9 and also have a CW9 that I shoot cast reloads through.

I bought the CW9 used and it needed a recoil spring because it was having light primer strikes (probably the reason I bought it cheap).

My P would out shoot the C all day long. Night sights also. If you don't care about accuracy they are the same. Plus or minus 200 bucks.

Owned a MK9, upgraded to a PM9. Loved that gun and carried it for around a decade. If you're going to stick with Kahr, then the PM9 would be a slight upgrade over the CM9, but it's not night and day.

I ended up with a Sig P365 since it's almost identical in size and I like the trigger better.

This is an old thread.  Figured it would have been archived be now.  Glad to see it’s still alive.

Is bluntnose a reference to the lack of taper in early gen PM9's?

(Still) glad to see that this thread is still alive.

I thought they archived after 30 days.

Or does that only apply to GD threads?

Think its just GD, or similar forums.

This was one I wanted to keep alive, plus a question which I think I know the answer to.  Kahr forum is slow but I've been carrying my PM9 for well over a decade, and PM40, CM9, and a P9(?) prior to that.

Not much difference in the two. I have a very reliable CM 9. My father in law has a very reliable PM 9. They are great shooters.

PM9 is just finely machined, and finished in my particular example.  Functionally the same gun

I have a well used CM9, added a set of night sights. Plenty happy with it.

The magazines are the weak point in the system.
