Who is the revolver equivalent of Ed Brown, Wilson, Baer 1911s?

Looking for a quality “custom” 357. Something beyond Smith or Ruger out of the box.

Such high end Wheel Guns and they come with Twnety Dollar Hogue K Frame Grips.

If I'm gonna spend the cash. A new production MR-73 with proper wood stocks.

David Clements Custom Guns (CCG).  I traded for this last year which is a one off.  Converted 44 Magnum Redhawk to 45 Winchester Magnum that uses SW moon clips.  He no longer works on large frame but still works on small frame Rugers.  Ruger's may not win any beauty contests but they are durable and indestructible.

Korth in Lollar is now mostly making production guns but you can still get a traditionally made revolver manufactured for you.

The guns that were made in Ratzeburg, as well as the first years in Lollar, were all hand-made.

The French Manurhin MR-73 has carried a reputation as one the the absolute best .357 magnum revolvers ever made. Hammer forged barrel, adjustable trigger, I think a 50k round life of full magnum loads & ridiculous accuracy requirements.

Korth makes expensive guns and they are reportedly immaculate, but I don’t know of any police or spec ops using them, while the MR73 was used by GSG9, GIGN, SAS & others. The MR-73 has a wait & will set you back $3-7k depending on options.  I’ve always heard it as the revolver equivalent of the original SIG P210 from way back when.

Used ones show up on Gunbroker, but there’s a guy in PA with an import license to get them new. If interested, here’s some info:

There's always the option of sending in a factory Smith or Ruger to a talented Smith.

Magnaport and Gemini Customs are a couple good ones, as is Gary Reeder.

I got to fingerbang some at the SHOT Show once. These things make a Rolex feel like a $2 Chinese watch. The cylinder closes like a bank vault door closing. Just an incredible piece of machinery.

This is my PPC revolver made by Bill Davis.  OK, Ok, ok.....not many people shoot PPC now a days.  But, it is in fact a .357 Mag (S&W 581 modified).  And, I've never fired a round of .357 Mag out of it.

Aloha, Mark

WOW!!!

That is freaking cool.  Price is out of this world.  I definitely would consider buying one if I won the lottery.

If Korth (or any of the High end brands) made an 8 shot 9mm, I'd buy it , or would take a loan out to get one yesterday.
I use revolvers in competition + EDC, and always strive to buy or customize them to be the best possible.
While these guns are beautiful and rugged, I'm not gonna come near to firing my EDC pistola 50,000 times.
If their going to tout ruggedness, make a comp gun that'll be put to the test.
The guns pictured here are gorgeous though.
Thanks for posting pics of them.

I don't have any from Gary Reeder, but he used to be featured in a lot of gun mags.

There are still a few small shop old guys doing PPC guns who do nice stuff. I saw a model 29-3 at a gunshow 2 years ago that was converted into a PPC gun by a Smtih in south Florida. The gun was in great shape and could have been had for a less than the cost of parts. I was offered it for $650.
