Which Ameriglo for my G19.5

Finally scored me a blue label. It’s been a while since I’ve put sights on a 19. What Ameriglo sights do you like for carry?

Is it the GL852 FBI sights that are the go to?

The Ameriglo Trooper sights are a great choice. Pretty much the same model as the "Ameriglo Bold" sights that Glock uses.

six of my guns have Ameriglo CAP sights. 66 year old eyes, some astigmatism in the dominant eye. quicker & easier to see than any sights ever, at least for me. square green front sight, green hash mark under the rear notch.

I used TruGlo. Works fine. One is a u-groove that I wanted to try out.

Some TruGlo, some OEM:

Fuken glockstore delivered my ambi things fast at first. Two are on back order for months now.

Great looking pistol, the 19.5 is what I really want now and cannot find one.

Watching the replies, as I too want some AmeriGlo's, will install the same type of sights across my collection, so I will be used to one sight

Recently I put a set of these on my 19.5 and I am really happy with them.

I love the troppers on my 48. Excellent sights. Probably should get a set for the 17 too though instead of the glock oem night sights.

So now I'm a little confused as I see Gen 5 comes with .200" height front sight. This should make POI inside 25 yards hit low, wouldn't it?

Any reason I couldn't go with .180" front sight height sets like I do for Gen 3?

Same. They're awesome sights, especially for the price. I like them because I'm not a huge fan of 3 dots, I prefer the black rear and that bright front dot for attracting my eye to the front sight where it belongs. Thats just personal preference though.

I used standard sights. I didn't notice any POI shift between the OEM plastics and the aftermarkets. Are you sure that isn't some myth you are quoting?

Nope, look it up. Tons of reports that Gen 5 Glocks shoot low. They started using .200" front sight height and companies like Ameriglo offer "Gen 5" sights of the same height. Seems like most folks prefer to go with Gen 1-4 height.....which is what i'll try here. 0.200" is too high for a defensive G19 in my opinion

See how it shoots with the factory sights and then go from there. FWIW I have the .200 Agent sights on my G45 and it is dead-on at 25 yards. I actually have Agents on a Gen 3 G26 and a Gen 4 G17 and they are also dead on using the .200 front. YMMV of course. And your preferred sight picture will be a factor as well. I like my guns to shoot poa/poi to the top of the front sight. If you like more of a 6 o'clock hold the .180 might be better. I like to shoot steel at distance so I spend a fair amount of time getting my pistols dialed in.

You may be aware of this, but apparently the Gen 5 Agent sights are designed for a combat hold sight picture ("running the dot"), because that's what the FBI trains, while Gen 1-4 sights are set up for center hold (splitting the center of the target with the top end of the front sight). That's why Ameriglo offers both Gen 1-4 and Gen 5 Agent sights.

I went with Gen 5 Agent sights. I like them a lot, have two sets now, and plan to use them whenever I replace sights in the future.
