I was given this 10 inch 44 magnum barrel with 4 position front sight. The first 4inches are corroded. I tried scrubbing with several different solvents ,did not make a difference.

JB's bore paste, wrap a patch around a bore brush and slather with JB's, keep adding patches when it gets loose. Then some Hoppes and then some copper solvent. Rinse and repeat.

I have tried all your suggestions ,thanks. I plugged the barrel filled it with hoppes, let it sit for 2 days did not make any difference. Whatever the owner did is permanently etched into the metal. I did not see the rest of the gun the barrel came from.

Put the brush on a drill. What do you have to lose except corrosion?

Chop it to 6"  and magna port it.

But, how does it shoot?

It looks like someone shot soft lead bullets at high velocity which can cause bore leading at the end of the barrel.  What I have done is take steel wool and wrap it around a bore brush and scrub the area to see if it is lead and if it will come off that way.  I start with coarse steel wool and work up to 000 steel wool.  The steel wool will not harm the barrel and given how it looks right now it really doesn't matter.  You can also take a sharp pin or pick of some kind and see if it is actual corrosion or just lead stuck to the barrel. Generally 10" smiths were used for silhouette shooting which involved heavy loads and heavy bullets.  It also has the 4 position front sight which was built specifically for the silhouette game .

All copper Chore Boys are excellent without causing further damage

Yowza that's bad.
I'll be fallowing this out of curiosity.

I'd like to see a picture of the entire revolver
I have a thing for overly long barreled handguns

That looks like severe barrel leading to me.

As mentioned above:
A strip of all copper chore boy scrubbing pad wrapped around an old bore brush and go to town.

I’ll bet what comes out looks like glitter.

If it's leaded up then try some of the Bore Tech Eliminator cleaning solution.  If it's lead you'll be amazed at how dirty the patches will be till the barrel is cleaned of lead.

If it's corrosion you might try some stuff called Fluid Film.  A lot of people use if for rust prevention on their vehicles in climates where a lot of salt is used on the roads in the winter.  The descriptions/claims on the web site is that the Fluid Film, when sprayed onto a corroded surface will penetrate the rusty layers all the way to the metal and loosen the rust/corrosion.  I know a guy who sprayed it on the wheels/lugs of a rusty trailer that needed new tires/rims and he was amazed at how all the lug nuts turned off easily without breaking a single one (he sprayed it a couple times over a three day period before attempting to loosen the lug nuts).

After that he started using it on rusty old guns he buys at gun shows and flea markets.  Sprays it on, lets it sit a few days and then wipes if off with clean rags followed by one with Hoppe's#9 and then wipes the gun down with an oil rag after cleaning the barrel/internal parts.

Shoot it and see how it does.  It might be really accurate. I had a Mosin with shot out dark bore. It was my most accurate

After shooting then clean with a stainless brush. It should brighten up some

Plug the barrel and fill it with mercury, it will dissolve the leading

That looks like lead to me.  Someone was not using gas checks on their 44 loads.

Lewis Lead remover and elbow grease is what you need.

Try a tornado gun brush. Like This
There's stainless steel or brass stranded, etc.

I have to work in garage and temperature has been 110 degrees so I will not work on it until fall.
I have tried everything except hydrogen and white vinegar and electrolysis .

CHORE-BOY kitchen scrubbers, make sure you get the 100% copper, not steel coated copper.
Wrap around a bore brush and go to town.

leaded that badly, maybe stick the cleaning rod in a varible speed drill, add some KROIL and let the drill do the scrubbing

This.

If it's already detached from the gun, it's even easier to send out to get un-kaput.
