I know, I know, Biden. But, not every gun has skyrocketed in price like Sigs currently are. DAK police trade P229s that were unsellable at $339 are now actually bidding up to $580. Used 226Rs are fetching north of $750, lol. Wowser!
That is because of the quality. The German and West German Sigs are the new 57 Chevrolet of handguns. And in the current climate they will only go North. Buckle your seatbelt. Glad I held onto mine.
Yeah, and water it wet. The older German SIGS are not made anymore so since they are a nicely made gun their value goes up Pedo Joe or not. Same reason the West German SIGS are even more than the German SIGS.

I bought a 1991 Sig 228 in pristine shape with three thirteen magazines for $950 USD on January 31st. It goes well with my 1988 P226 and 1994 Sig P229 .40 S&W.
Sig P series pistols IMHO are stupid easy to work on; not as easy as Glock or even S&W M&P’s, but with the Sig Combination tool plus the half moon punch it can easily be taken apart. I am looking for a P229R, even a DAK to convert over to DA/SA, and they are close or over $600. |

I debated selling my MK25 not long ago, as it was a California model, but apparently those are going for even higher amounts now as the people in Cali. want them even more. I bought it years ago from a gun shop pretty cheap and made a decent profit on it. The P228 I had years ago was a pistol I never should have sold.
I got the signess bad starting around 2008. I have 11 of the P series guns. I recently sold a P245 DAO and did pretty well on it. I don't think I could part with what I still have.

Last summer I got a Sig Red Box 226 in .357Sig. My LGS had a shitload of hi-cap mags for $15ea or so. I scored a case of ammo before the price insanity began. I'm real happy with this entire deal.
Love my P228, also my first handgun purchase. Nothing pointed as naturally in my hand as one of them did. Don’t shoot it as much any more which is a shame due to lack of backup parts.

I ordered a P226 DA/SA .40 from Kings for $490 shipped yesterday

It’s not just the W. German ones.
When the P220 Legion Carry SAO, limited series of 500, was released back in Nov (MSRP $1,329) prices on Gunbroker for them immediately shot up north of $3,000. My LGS is a Master Dealer for SIG so I was able to get one at $1,190 when they arrived at the store. All 3 that came in that day were gone within the hour. |
Any gun is nuts right now. Even a Jennings or a Deagle are being marked up.
I regret not getting a P228 back in the day, but did acquire a West German P220 and a German P226

Gun prices are ridiculous at this point; bought a pristine P228 DAO for $950 with three original zipper back magazines for my birthday. Getting parts Saturday to convert it over to DA/SA. I have been looking at used P229’s .40 S&W as a fun project to rebuild, even in DAK. prices are sky high right now compared to 2019. That and a H&K USP-9, the only gun I ever regretted selling
I've managed to amass a collection of three P220s, five P226s, a P225-A1, and a P229.
None of them are going anywhere, but it's nice to know I'm sitting on a small fortune. |
93 P226 and a 94 P230 were 2 of my first pistols. Other 2 were a Buckmark snd an IMEZ mak.

Down here, prices on Sigs are a bit higher but not what I'd call outrageous.
I'm seeing NIB samples selling at MSRP, no discounting at all. I figure that with emptying shelves they are having a tough time replacing stock and need to elevate the selling price a bit to help keep the doors open. Recently I replaced a P229 that I sold a long time ago with an identical lightly used two barrel sample in 99% condition for just north of $700. It's not plastic and IMO worth it. |

I ordered one last Thursday..... It should be here on this Thursday.....Shipped 2 day AIR UPS.... Oh, wait, it's .40 cal......No one's shooting that crap anymore.....What a waste of money.... |

I lost three auctions on Gunbroker for three beat up P229 .40 S&W I was going. To strip down and rebuild with shirt bobbed hammer, Gray Guns internals, Hogue G10 grips, Trijicon night sights, and Cerekoted M-17 FDE. All three went for Mid $500 to $600 USD. A Year ago those guns were $349 used. For that price I ended up buying a P365 with four twelve round magazines and still waiting for my work P320.

I'm not sure if it came from the DR, or if the last owner just really liked the DR! Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Bought a pristine Sig P228 DAO (1991 gun) with three original zipper magazines but no box for my birthday last month; just converted it to DA/SA, and added SRT package, TJ Cuatoms blackened stainless steel grip screw and TJ Customs stainless steel Teflon coated short trigger . It has Trijicon night sights that were dead, so I sent slide back to Trijicon for re-lamp. For $57 USD it is a hard dead to beat.
