LGS just got in a GP-100 “Match Champion” 10mm.
Can you use .40 S&W since the loaded ammo is cheaper and brass is easy to find.

I don't see why not.

Have to use the clips but people do it all the time in the Smith guns.

Only if it uses moon clips. Otherwise the headspace will be way off.

I shoot .40 out of my S&W 610 all the time, it's perfectly fine

I have shot .40 S&W and .357 SIG out of a factory 10mm Glock barrel.

It always headspaced on the extractor.

Yes... .357 SIG just to see if it was possible.

I do however have a .40 S&W barrel and a .357 SIG barrel for my Glock 10mm.

They work well and have reasonable accuracy!

***Yes I know the post was about a 10mm revolver but someone will wonder or ask about a semi-auto!

I'm really looking at one of these too, but there have been reports of misfires with .40 that have me hesitant to pick one up:

I would suspect that might be an issue with that one gun.  I am guessing the cylinder face is out of spec.  If it's done right both cartridges should be equally reliable.  I have many thousands of rounds of 40 through a S&W 610 with no ignition issues.  Ruger needs to make that right.

My 10mm Blackhawk came with a spare .40 cal cylinder.
I have only shot 10mm with it,so far.

Needs the extra cylinder because it can’t use clips
