Anybody have any experience with these or similar guide rods?

Is this gimmick or do these really mitigate or soak up the recoil?

The premise makes sense to me.

I only have the experience of one.  I put a tungsten guid rod in my P6, it had an aluminum GR, the only thing I noticed was a bit less flip, which isn't much with a 9mm to begin with.

I have both a tungsten and stainless guide rod. Biggest advantage is you can tune your recoil springs.

Yep, like my DPM guide rod spring kit. Comes with 3 different springs to adjust recoil to your liking.
