I had a little free time so I took my newly acquired Wilson Combat Experior, CZ Shadow 2, HK P7 and Glock 19 out for some shooting and testing today. This was my first time out with the WC and my 3rd time shooting the CZ. I have had the HK for several years and the custom G19 was a 50th birthday gift from my siblings.

To be honest, they all shot about the same in my hands. I’m not the best pistol shooter, but not the worst either. My groups with the P7 were almost the same as the CZ and WC. The Glock was cheating as it has a red dot on top. I did find that the CZ shot better with Turkish ammo. Foreign gun, foreign ammo equaled tighter groups in my hands.

What I discovered is even though the HK P7 is an extremely old technology, I shot it just as well as the more high tech stuff

WC…..first time out 7-15yds

HK P7 7yds

G19 7yds red dot

CZ side by side WC 7ds

CZ with Turkish ammo 7yds

Nice shooting especially jumping around from trigger to trigger, hammer and striker etc.

Which felt the "best"?

Just curious, is that the Martin County club?

Great pieces! The G19 is very unique. I kinda dig it.

How much grip effort does it take to cock the HK staple gun? I've always wondered.

It took me at least a decade to shoot as well as the mechanical accuracy in my cheap ass guns. I’ll never shoot to the potential of one build for work, but at least you can only blame yourself for the miss. Attachment Attached File

Looks like fun. I like them all, but do lean to old school guns. For me old school is made prior to 1960 so maybe really old school.
When I want to assess my accuracy potential I have found under 15 yards masks a lot of fundamental errors if you really want to see the differences ( or not as the case may be) 25 and 50 yard shooting will exaggerate ( and reinforce your need to focus) your errors and be a real eye opener.

The CZ felt the best and had the least recoil. It is big and heavy. t

The range is Gateway in Jacksonville.

My siblings all got together and had this made for my 50th Birthday. It celebrates my 24 years in the military and my rating as a Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman. It is unique and one of a kind made just for me .

Nice groups. The P7 should’ve been better, it’s the only one with a fixed barrel of the group!

Someone asked what it takes to co k the P7 and I think it’s something like 10-15 pounds. But once it’s cocked, you can ease off to just a few pounds and it will stay cocked. I actually use it sometimes teaching new shooters that they don’t need to death grip. I have them squeeze it to cock it and learn how much to just barely keep it. Helps to teach not to have too much tension, plus it is great for teaching only front and back pressure, not all around. Great pistol and great training tool!
