I remember shooting a relatives P90 as a teenager. It's still one of my favorite guns to this day. It always went bang and I shot it well. I've always wanted one, but never picked one up.

I was the top shooter in my Reserve Academy in ‘97 with my P-90. Great gun. Very accurate.

|
I always liked the P97 best out of the P-series, with the P95 second.

I had a Ruger P90 as a teenager. It was my first pistol. It was horribly inaccurate, but reliable. It was also extremely difficult to carry concealed. I sold it (after buying a LE trade-in P226 9mm from CDNN to replace it) and don't regret it at all. Nice pistol OP. View Quote They are a bit chunky for concealed carry. |

Took a friend of mine to the funshow several years ago. He knew next to nothing about handguns. The Ruger in OP's post immediately caught his eye.
He bought it then and there. I didn't try to talk him out of it. No reason to. Solid product. |

If I ever run across one of those at a gun show, pawn shop or something I will likely have it. My very first handgun was a P95 I sold 20 years ago, but I have since found 2 more. Never shot the .45 version but I sure would like to try it.

I had a Ruger P345 and I regret selling it. The gun came with a mag disconnect which I disabled. It was lightweight, compact, thin, and smooth shooting. I seriously miss that gun. It was a surprise sleeper and I sold it in a moment of weakness. It was the size but weighed less than a Scandium framed Commander 1911, was a decent DA/SA, and slim with reliable 8rd mags. Well, I just won an auction for a stainless P345 w/ box and two mags for $300 (that's with shipping). https://i.imgur.com/CBE3yJw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wwff9Tr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nYJSirU.jpg https://i.imgur.com/DHY4ppb.jpg https://i.imgur.com/FGfiPDI.jpg View Quote Nice! I trust the 9mm P-94 I have to carry as armed security and policing as I've done in the past when moonlighting.

I've always wanted a P90. When I was a kid a relative would take me shooting. He had a Ruger P90 and I loved that thing. For some reason I was a lot more accurate with it at that age than with his 9mm, even than with his P89 in 9mm. Ever since then I've always wanted one, but never come across one at a decent price that I'd want to pay.

I really like that styling and construction. did they make one in 9mm?
|
|
My buddy had a P85 and a P45 that ran like swiss watches. Except uglier.
|
|
I had one that I foolishly sold. Great to carry but a bit snappy to shoot.
I really wish Ruger would have made that pistol as a 9 or 10rd single stack 9mm or even with a standard 15rd p-series magazine |

I had a couple of steel framed P guns. They eat anything you feed them and double as a boat anchor.

Actually they did. The SR9 looks just like the P345. The just ceased producing those and you can probably find a NOS one cheap. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Nice looking pistol. I had a P?? 9mm back in the day. Keep saying I will pick up another P series someday, until I do.

Proprietary single-stack. 1911 mags almost fit. I don't have any idea why they didn't go the 1911 route. Probably a Bill Ruger thing. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

So is a Sig Sauer thing, S&W thing, etc... the Sig P220 and S&W 45xx series uses proprietary single stack .45 ACP mags too.
|
|
Apparently Kahr .45 ACP guns use 1911 mags. HiPoints can w/ a $30 mag catch - which adds 20% to the price of the gun...

Nice looking pistol op. I could never understand why Ruger pistols, well at least the newer designs, don't sell as well as other brands. They might be a little bit over engineered and bulky but will last forever and are priced competitively. My P90 I owned was a tack driver. The P345 looks like a sleek pistol.
|
|
love my P89. easily converted the mags to work in the PC Carbine

Nice looking pistol. I had considered a P345 several times, but never bought one. It seemed like every time I had cash and was looking, none of the stores around ever had any. It would pair well with my P89DC. The P89 is kinda clunky and chunky, but stone cold reliable and, while not the most accurate gun I have ever owned, it is more than accurate enough. The P345 always seemed a little more refined and ergonomic. I'd like to shoot one, but doubt I'd buy one now with them being out of production and, likely, not supported anymore.

Fun Fact: The synthetic frame of the P95 (and I believe P345) are made of Dow Chemical's "Isoplast" material. This is the same material used to manufacture artificial heart valves.
