Local guy had an anniversary special and was doing stippling jobs for $75. I have never really liked the spider man looking grip design of the HK45 and decided what the hell...

Before:

After:

Overall I’m really happy with it. Got rid of the spidey look and it only feels slightly more aggressive but not overbearing.

Normally I would say you are going to hell for HK violations.  But, that doesn't look so bad.

And yes, the spiderman webbing shit look is lame.

ETA- I will never be able to afford an HK

A year ago i wouldn’t have dared. As I paid almost $950 for it shortly after they first came out. But the HK MSRP drop already destroyed the resale value so I said what the hell. Plus it’s one of my absolute favorite pistols, so I doubt I will ever part with it anyways.

If they came from the factory like that I'd own one or two. One of the few stipple jobs I think looks better than factory. Glad you had the guts to do it.

Thanks. I was nervous, but am glad I did it to. Only thing I’m a little picky on was he stippled a little to close to the HK45 lettering on the bottom of the grip in my opinion. But for $75 out the door I’m not complaining.

I usually see these stippling jobs and cringe.
Not this time.

Not a fan of the Spiderman look either. I would have liked a larger scaled version of what they used on the HK45C and P2000.

That was the original design. But they changed it last minute.

I like the stippling. Though I'd be more inclined to stipple a P30/VP series as the panels are replaceable.

Tengo1 - I have never seen those full size 45's with those frames. Were they sold to the public or are those one offs prior to production.

Never sold to the public. Pre production models. They had just released the P30 with its Spider-Man grips and someone in HK corporate decided to change the full size HK45 grip to match. Leaving the HK45C with the original design.

Good, the grip of the 45c sucks.  Way too slippery.

The 45 looks good.  It's about as good as pistols under $3k get, so enjoy it.

I would argue

1. That simply looks like taped on smashed assholes. And the factory look is straight up Spider-Man.

2. I’ve yet to see any “skater tape” solutions that doesn’t start to peel off and lose their stickiness after a year or two.

3. The HK MSRP drop already devalued the hell out of it. I bought it for $960ish in 2010. They can be had for around $700 new now, and there are several used ones on gunbroker for $600.

4. I have no intention of selling it. So 3rd party concerns of value is a moot point.

5. It feels better in the hand when I fire it.

I'm not a fan of the spiderman grips, but always cringe when some stipples their polymer frame.

My solution was to install a $18 "Talon" grip tape set.  When it comes time to sell ... peel off the grip tape and it won't be criticized for being "custom".

I find the HK45C / CT frame to be slippery when my hands are wet.

Well, I'm a redundant smashed butthole because my two contributions were stated (by someone else) directly above my posts.

Next time come to the silicon carbide dark side. Now that is grippy.

I was expecting worse OP. Not bad at all.
