There is a plate mounting screw protruding in that tunnel. Sad SA couldn’t figure that out, but it does not interfere with the factory extractor.
I pulled mine too, but just took tension off. It seemed to be way too tight and I had random fails to fully chamber. You too? There is a big thread in the 1911 forum on prodigy, CRW installed that same extractor and ground off part of the bulb. https://www.ar15.com/forums/handguns/Braking-NEW-Springfield-Armory-2011-leaked/49-206051/&page=25&anc=bottom#bottom I *think* mine is fixed, need a few hundred more rounds to verify. My extraction has been fine, just occasional need to bump the slide to finish chambering. Mine eats some SWC handloads easy.  Attached FileI’ve had bad luck with factory WWB lately, if that’s what you’re shooting try something else. |
