What Clint Eastwood did, in the character of Detective Harry Callahan, for the popularity of the S&W Model 29, Sir Sean Connery, in the character of Agent 007 James Bond, did for the popularity of the Walther PPK. It's unfortunate, that in real life, Sean Connery became an ardent supporter of restrictive gun laws.

Fleming, the author, was British
Boothroyd, the later armorer, was also British

....actors are actors, with a few exceptions = Christopher Lee, Anthony Quayle, etc.

I wonder if Walther would even still be around if it weren't for Ian Fleming and James Bond?
