Have any of you had the opportunity to shoot a P365XL and a Glock 48 at the same time? I am curious to know how the recoil impulse and muzzle flip compare between the two. The few reviews I could find online were not very helpful.

I've replaced my G43 with a G43X, then replaced my G43X with a P365 as my EDC because of the capacity and abilities I've noticed on the range. Now I'm curious about the 48 and P365XL.

Thank you.

I thought Glock fanbois were bad.

P365XL is smaller than the 43X or the 48. I've shot all 3 in the same range session and while I'd argue the 43X and 48 are some of the better glocks. the P365XL shoots flatter, with a better grip angle, I have smedium sized hands and the 365XL feels better.

I have a P365, a P365XL and I briefly had a P365SAS but the sights weren't for me. I cant wait until my Romeo zero comes in, and I hope SIG comes out with an optics cut slide for the regular P365 too.

Thank you for your reply GSMike.

I'm like you, about the G43X and G48, and have smaller hands.  I can shoot tighter groups faster with the G42/G43x/G48 than I can a G17, or G19.  I have a P365 and can shoot it better than the G43X I used to have.  You sold me on "shoots flatter".

I don't have an 365xl but do have a standard 365. While not much wider than the 43 I had, the Sig grip actually gives me a more solid gripping area. That could be due to the texture on it or the angle of the grip. I do agree it seems to shoot flatter than the 43 but the 43 was no slouch. The 43 I had was perfect for me other than capacity. I bought one when they first came out and prior to even hearing about the 365. I had plans on getting the 48 but for some reason compared to the 43 I had, the 48 gave me slide bite while I never got that with the 43. Strange as they seem to have the same grip type. Anyways, I never thought I would get a 365 but am glad I did. It gave me the added capacity, more comfortable gripping angle and am looking at getting the XL grip module to add to it. Just another reason I chose the Sig 365.

I noticed the same thing with the 48 I used to own.  I could feel the slide hitting/rubbing the top of my hand, about an inch behind the web of my thumb and index finger.  My 43 and 43X did not do this. It the slides did make contact, it was so fast I didn't notice it.

I didn't want a P365 until my LGS owner let me shoot and carry his.  Now I'm glad I made the change from 43/43X to P365.

I've owned both, and the P365XL was noticeably smoother than the G48, though it (the G48) is a nice shooting gun.
I traded the G48 to try out the P365XL, and was glad I did. But then I traded the XL for a plain P365 for the smaller size for AIWB carry while driving. Even though the 365 is snappier than the XL, I ended up shooting it better than the XL.

I have a P365XL in my possession. I'll be able to shoot it next weekend and see if I will regret selling my G48.

Hell I had a 365 but ended up make a 365X by getting a 365XL module and then putting the 365 FCU and slide on it. Works great and gives me the short slide but the longer and better feeling grip. I still have the 365 grip module and the couple of 10 round mags I might end up selling off or just keeping to have around as I might just pick up a 365Xl slide and run with that until I can find a spare 365 FCU.

I finally had a chance to shoot my new P365XL.  So far I'm glad I switched from the G48 to the 365XL.  The recoil impulse is smoother than the G48, and my groups were just as tight.  The trigger broke-in and is better than the factory G48 trigger. I shot the standard 365 and 365 XL on the same outing.  My slow fire groups were the same for both pistols, at 10 and 25 yards.  I'm faster with the 365XL when shooting the dot torture and similar drills.

My only complaints are the .155" wide X-ray front sight and the flat face trigger.  I replaced the trigger with the standard curved face trigger. The front sight might be replaced with a .140" Night Fusion, .140" Ameriglo Pro Glow, or a .125 tritium Dawson front sight.
