Yes. About a year ago.

If it will keep you shooting, yes.
Lower capacity in something you shoot all the time and can make hits with is better than something you don't shoot because you can't find ammo. |

I carry some sort of 9mm every day. My bedside pistol is a Gen 3 Glock 21. If I were in your shoes and could more easily up my .45 stack I would.

it is a PIA to switch over my 1050, but the Rock Chucker has been sitting idly for about 30 years... options are good

By all means, if you have the components, then go for it. However, don't think for a minute that having your 8 round .45acp pistol will save it from the minions of the left. Very carefully read their gun ban plans. It goes further than banning magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, they want to ban any weapon that can hold more than a 10 round mag (even if no such mag exists), which effectively bans ALL semi auto, and some bolt action arms.
Just sayin'. |

I wouldn't hesitate to go to .45 acp in your situation. Nothing wrong with any of the major service calibers, IMO. Good luck.

I'm doing same exact thing as OP for range use. I still carry 9s often.

Sounds like you don’t have much choice. Nothing wrong with 45 ACP. I shoot both but 2X more 45.

I just got back into 45ACP and I’m new to 10mm. I’m good on 9mm but I wanted options and variety. I was able to find both 45 and 10mm at my LGS. I was limited to 500 rounds per caliber but at least I found it. Need to go get more.

I have the opposite problem - I have a stash of small rifle primers but I want to load 45/10mm. Nothing is ever easy for sure . . .

If you have the components then why haven’t you already reloaded?
|

|
Absolutely if you have the stuff. I’m starting to run dangerously low on LP primers though and it’s painful.
