New Shadow 2 owner here (and new to CZ's). When reassembling the slide, there is no obvious place to rest the guide rod against the barrel lug; no notch / dimple etc.. which I find weird.

Below is the only way I can figure out, but it just don't look right! It looks like it's just barely hanging on there.

is this correct?!

You're good to go OP. I can take down my SP01 tomorrow and grab a reference picture but the barrel lacks a clear ledge to seat the guide rod on - it looks precarious but doesn't case any issues.

Put the pistol back together and cycle it a few times if that eases your mind.

Thanks! Precarious is a perfect way to describe it.

My 97 has a nice dimple on the lug to match the end of the guide rod. I find it odd that they did not do something similar on the shadow.

I thought it always was assembled a little oddly that way but I think no matter how slightly off it is, if you cycle the slide it just finds its resting position naturally.

Try it, I think I noticed it was consistent in its position when I took the slide off again after shooting.

It just doesn’t have a fixed detent pocket is all.  Perhaps that is better for accuracy to not be held at an off axis.

I am spitballing a bit on the last part.
