Greetings,

Does anybody have any information on a 38. special made by Security Industries of America ?

My step father gave me one today, that he says has never been fired. Its in great looking shape.

The only information I've found in the web is they where made in N.J. from about 1973-1978 and went out of business. One site said not to use plus P ammo and they went out of business due to quality control issues.

Stay Safe !

Basically a copy of the Smith J frame.  Didn’t last long in the market.  Not especially valuable.  QC was hit or miss.

Thanks,

It shoots fine. It will make a fine little house gun.

Didn't they also make a 5 shot 357mag revolver similar in design to the S&W J frame?
I remember seeing one at a gun show couple years ago.  I wasn't impressed with the quality of the work.

They were in bidness in NJ from 1965 (est) to 1978. They began with their .357mag Model PPM, a 5-shot, 2 inch bbl revolver. One in 100% condition is valued at $225, so not a high quality gun.

The .38spl revolver was made from 1973-1978. 100% value is $175, so again not a high quality value.

The Devil's Advocate in me wants to say they weren't much more than Saturday Night Specials.

Hope this helps, OP.
