@Kingdead this is brilliant. I’m very much a fan of the type of energy for seeing something in fiction and deciding to will it into existence in metal.
You mentioned this isn’t your only RE-inspired pistol you own - at some point can you take a picture of all of them together? Excellent work! |

I am going to make some more posts. I wanted to build a 2nd frame as a backup to the first. I have access to a mill at this time so I figured why not. This build went much easier than the first and my first pinning of the parts went well. I made the beavertail smaller than the first just for some differences. I tried to make the images small enough to scroll through, but big enough to see the details.

The frame suffered a fall onto the concrete in the cold (10F). It fell right onto the beavertail. The aluminum at the end was dented but the joint was still solid and the whole thing wrung like a bell so I know it's a tight joint. While I had to clean up the dent, I was happy to see I made a tight joint.

I ordered some custom stamps for this and future builds. The first was from a weld inspectors stamp shop. I had a custom "K" in a box made to represent Kendo. I also decided to add a lucky charm to all my Samurai Edge's going forward. I put myself in Kendo's shoes and if I was making custom bespoke pistols for a police department, I'd hide a charm somewhere on each pistol for good luck. For Wesker I added a horseshoe. Even for that bastard he'd get a good luck charm before he decided to betray everybody.

Sharpening the edges before Cerakote. You don't want everything to look like a lump of playdoh shit. Keep the file flat to the surface and don't cleanup with any sandpaper.

The next time I will post is when this gets Cerakoted. Thanks for looking. Hopefully this gives you some ideas and courage to do custom pistol builds that you can't buy at a store. I had to have a tumor on my thumb removed recently. It makes me happy to be able to share with you guys again. Also if you have any Samurai Edge's of your own post them. There have been a few good ones in this thread.

The 2nd frame is back from Cerakoting. M&J Gunsmithing in Hubertus WI did an excellent job. The beavertail on this one is a bit smaller, more like the gamecube era size. I'm happy with how this turned out. The joints are fairly invisible. The color is H151 Satin Aluminum.
