I've got a Ruger Mark I 22/45 on consignment at a LGS (Taj Mahal type place; gets lots of traffic). It's in great shape. Have it listed at $150.
Been up there 2 months. Is that too high a price?

The price is fine. Tapered barrel? Seems everyone wants the bull barrel for some reason.

Yep, tapered barrel.

It's a great price if you're looking for a 22 plinker. Install a volquartson sear and you'll fall in love with it.

I would be all over that if saw locally

Not very common anymore to run into a Mk1. What kind of condition?

No idea. Bought from the same place it's sitting at now. Is there a way to tell from the SN?

Hmmm. Not on the list. The prefix is 211-xxxxx.

Also, remember this is a 22/45 polymer frame.

It's not on this list either ... https://ruger.com/service/productHistory/PI-22-45.html

Do I have a unicorn?

I'm now thinking this is either a Mark II or someone put a Mark I upper on a 22/45 frame.
This says it's a Mark II 1985 production.

Thanks for the question. That was some interesting and informative research.

I guess the frames are interchangeable?

The frames are typically interchangeable between the 22/45 and Mark II and III's. Just check the fit because they can become sloppy. My Mark II barrel/receiver is way too loose on my 22/45 frame.

I'm actually thinking about hanging on to it.

Bought it for my wife as we worked thru what she wanted to get. Figured she would end up with a striker-fired/SA pattern, so she got a S&W M&P 22. She ended up with a Colt Competition in 9mm; so keeping the 22/45 makes sense. I'll probably throw the M&P up for consignment.

If I read this right, it's a plastic non-Changable grip 22/45, which means its a Mk2 or Mk3.  And I'm not sure I've ever seen one with a taper barrel.

When I worked a counter, any of that grip frame tended to hang around a lot longer than replaceable panel grip frames, but people did tend to like bull barrels too.  So it's the "worst" of both worlds to many consumers.
