Did they make the 357 adjustable sights in any length but 7 1/2, I saw one yesterday and I am thinking its a cut down to 4 5/8.

Ruger made a stainless .357 Bisley with 5 1/2" barrel.

I have a .44Mag and a .45 convertible of the above, and I'm pretty sure they made a .41Mag version too.  IIRC, they started off as Lipsey's exclusives, were kind of hard to find, but there have subsequent production runs.

Good luck!

The first runs were done in limited numbers and made for Accusport - I think it was 500 at a time.

They did .44 mag, .45 lc, and .357 mag in 5 1/2" barrels, stainless, adjustable sights.

Not sure on the .41 mag but I think you are correct and they made that one also.

Lipsey's had more made at a later date.

There was only one run of the Bisley stainless with adjustable sights in .357 mag with 5 1/2" barrel that I know of.

They are collectible.

500 in each caliber?  You're right, Accusport! You have a good memory! I have seen pics of guns from subsequent batches and the only difference I remember were laminated grips, in gray, I believe, whereas the originals sported light reddish solid hardwood panels.

Regardless of caliber, I really like the aesthetics of the gun, and to me the Bisley grip felt better in the hand when shooting when compared to a 7.5" SBH's plow style grip.

There were some other differences.

Lipsey's had some made with 3 1/2" barrels in .44 mag and .45 lc. and plain cylinders with no engraving.

They also had some .44 mag made with 4 1/2" barrels and plain cylinders.

No more in .357 mag though.

I prefer the Ruger Bisley grip and have several revolvers with them.

Could be a hybrid.
I cobbled together a .45 colt Bisley from a
45/8" Blackhawk and a Bisley Vaquero because I wanted the short barrel.

That conversion looks fantastic, even though I lean more towards the 5 1/2" barrel, which reminds me of Elmer Keith's No. 5. If it were mine I'd get rid of that hex grip screw, though.

Hats off to those like you who've gone through the trouble of customizing their guns to fit their wants! It was time consuming, but I was lucky to have found the Rugers in the calibers that I wanted.

Thanks for posting!

I never realized how rare the .357 magnum Bisley Blackhawk was.  Seems like Ruger should offer another limited time run.

Looks awesome, I have a stainless 5.5" Bisley Blackhawk in .45 Colt/acp that I wish was a 4.62".  I've thought about having the barrel cut but nobody seems to do that and there's always a bill for something else that has to come first.  Yours looks great.

I have the stainless 4 5/8” barrel .41 Mag. It is my deer hunting pistol and it shoots extremely well. I will not buy another plow handled gun again after having this one.
