Did they make the 357 adjustable sights in any length but 7 1/2, I saw one yesterday and I am thinking its a cut down to 4 5/8.

Ruger made a stainless .357 Bisley with 5 1/2" barrel.

You're right, Accusport! You have a good memory! I have seen pics of guns from subsequent batches and the only difference I remember were laminated grips, in gray, I believe, whereas the originals sported light reddish solid hardwood panels. Regardless of caliber, I really like the aesthetics of the gun, and to me the Bisley grip felt better in the hand when shooting when compared to a 7.5" SBH's plow style grip. |

Could be a hybrid.
I cobbled together a .45 colt Bisley from a 45/8" Blackhawk and a Bisley Vaquero because I wanted the short barrel.  Attached File |

That conversion looks fantastic, even though I lean more towards the 5 1/2" barrel, which reminds me of Elmer Keith's No. 5. If it were mine I'd get rid of that hex grip screw, though.
 Hats off to those like you who've gone through the trouble of customizing their guns to fit their wants! It was time consuming, but I was lucky to have found the Rugers in the calibers that I wanted. Thanks for posting! |

I never realized how rare the .357 magnum Bisley Blackhawk was. Seems like Ruger should offer another limited time run.

I have the stainless 4 5/8” barrel .41 Mag. It is my deer hunting pistol and it shoots extremely well. I will not buy another plow handled gun again after having this one.
